One way to find a niche, blah blah

1. Go to popular.ebay.com and the most popular stuff on ebay right now is all sitting there categorized for you. This is hard goods that people are spending their money on.

2. Set up a site based on one of those categories. You can join the ebay aff program, use amazon or another affiliate program, or you can create a community or email list and sell infoproducts, or a combo.

3. Persist. You won't get rich overnight, but with persistence you can create a decent site based on hard goods and grow it's content and traffic over time.

Rocket science, it ain't. And it doesn't have to be. It's all pretty basic.

And speaking of basic - I'm getting back to the basics in 2013, starting like, a month ago and it's already working.

      This is great advice, especially for newbies who are just starting out and don't know what to sell.

      Even for more advanced marketers, this kind of advice is a great reminder not to overlook the fundamentals.

        @higherluv Absolutely. There are a lot of sites like the ones we mentioned and their popular and what's hot lists are a goldmine. What could be better than a huge site doing the niche research for you!

        @Ken100 Yes, all too often people sit around and overcomplicate things. It's partly a result of buying into the philosophy that more features and bling is better, when a lot of the time the opposite is true. We need to remember that the basics, or the foundation concepts and ideas are what everything else is built on, so if you get back to those and work them hard it's hard to go wrong.

      Don't forget Amazon magazines and also Clickbank. If Amazon are selling several magazines in your niche you know you have a popular niche.

    Value add to the web by actually helping people. Not simply trying to make money. Especially if that means selling ebay products that you know nothing about or dont care for.
