Why don't they make a WP theme like this? (or do they?)...

When I surf the web, I click on NEWS ARTICLES all the time.

They look like this...

Yahoo!

or this...

Yahoo!

It's like a newspaper -- I trust what I am reading cuz it's from a third party. It has an EDITORIAL look and feel. NEWS.

In the print media, there are ways of advertising called ADVERTORIALS. They purposely look like real newspaper ARTICLES. (many newspapers and magazines force them to say "Advertisement" at the top)

Online, there is a "newsy" format that we are all conditioned to trust, the moment we see it.

So, what's stopping us IMers from using that style/format to make our own ONLINE ADVERTORIALS?

What's needed is a fill-in-the-blanks WP theme.

A theme that cranks out pages that scream NEWS! (and not, SALES!)

    You serious, Clark?

I use a few wordpress news themes. I think I got a pack of 3 for like $19. Just google wordpress news theme.

Also, if you want advertorials to check out...go to huffington post and click on any of their green coffe bean, mom makes money or testosterone ads.

The ads are obvious and whoever is running those ads has been running them forever to the same advertorial landers...though the landers change, the content is still just about the same.

So, what they are doing must be working.

It looks like they are doing lead gen and I assume running high payout CPA offers.

Most theme merchants have a news style theme available. They've been around for a long time. I use a news theme on several sites. I use news by StudioPress, but there are a ton you can check out.

You do know that you can customize a theme to make it look however you want right?

Also, if you want full power over the look of your theme and to go with something completely custom, just download a barebones framework. If you know basic css and html, you can get by with the customization just fine usually.

You can make any theme look however you want.

However, you'll have to remember to use the custom CSS section that comes with most themes when modifying existing styling because theme updates usually delete existing stylesheets and create their own default stylesheets again.

Just please don't use these $1 or $5 theme sites. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to take over a client's website and they're using this budget theme garbage. The code is usually done by a $50 web developer, there's no organization what so ever in the folders, they're not responsive, they're not tuned well for all resolutions, etc.

Themeforest is your friend for good themes.
