Would love some input on my newbie strategy

Hi everyone!

This is my first post on this forum. I am in the process of making a living online. Currently I earn zero dollars per week.

My goal is to earn 10 000 NOK per week, approximately $1700, within the end of June!

Where I am at:
My website is http://www.build-electronic-circuits.com
I have about 140 unique visitors per day.
I have two email lists with approximately 250 people.
On average 3 people sign up for my list per day.

My strategy:
-Continue to create great content and offer value to my lists
-Host free webinars to establish myself as an authority and get content for an e-course
-Offer the e-course for ~$65
-Somehow sell 4 courses per day

Yeah, so my strategy is a bit rough. I know that there is probably a lot of things I could do to increase my chances of reaching my goal. But I can't to everything. So I am really eager to get some input from people who has done something similar - what is the top 1 or 2 things you would suggest I do to increasing my chances of succeeding?

Cheers,
Oyvind

It's good see that you have a strategy plan. Many people there like you looking to make money but they don't have any strategy at all.

I would say, you can set bigger target's and you must have strong FOCUS on what you are doing.

I hear that a lot - that I could set higher targets for myself. So my target of $1700 per week is 4 times the target I started out with. I guess I am a bit afraid that if I set my goal too high, I wouldn't really believe that I could achieve it..

When you talk about focus. Do you mean strong niche focus on my website or are you talking more about strong focus on the current task at hand (for example creating a webinar)?

Welcome! Looks good and I agree that it is great you have a plan already in place.
You need to create more traffic to your site/niche. A Youtube video would help telling people what you do and inviting them to one of your webinars. Go on forums (for your niche) and do the same. good luck!

If you want to increase your chances of success, you should:

    A) Increase your speed. This can be done in different ways, but relying on SEO is not always a good idea. I suggest either PPC or other ways to acquire traffic fast such as from Yahoo Answers or from other website owners.

    B) Split test everything. This is the real secret to success. "If you can't measure it, you can't improve it"

    C) Look for other products that you can sell to your audience.

    D) Provide VALUE.

Thanks! Split testing is not a bad idea. I should probably start doing that.
But with PPC, do you mean Google Ads for example? I just can't picture that my visitor would click on an ad. I know when I search for things related to my niche, I completely ignore ads.

Add some samples of your main product to tutorials sites such as tutorialized. There are many of these kind of sites around. In the sample you can then point to your main product. I've used this technique for courses in the past and it works pretty well.

    • Hey oyvdahl,

I have a few interesting ideas:

      1. Consider possibly buying PCB kits wholesale and selling them to your subscribers. Your free ebook looks great, but at the end, you direct your potential clients to other retailers (Also, I didn't see any mention of your ecourse within your free ebook, nor on your website. If your readers don't know about it, they won't buy it).

      2. I came across a great website yesterday. I was researching how to create a server with a programming language I was new to and found a site with a step by step guide (targeted to beginners, written for beginners). The guide was amazing and I was learning a lot until I got to the part that would have told me how to start actually serving dynamic content (this was the meat and potatoes of the guide. It would show me how to actually create something worthwhile). So, to keep reading and learn what I really came to the site to learn, required me to purchase the ebook. At this point, I stopped dead in my tracks and it really clicked how this marketing technique worked.

You've probably heard over and over, "give free content." But this website really showed me why that works so well, and how important it is to have a seamless flow from "free" content to "paid" content.

It's also important to note that this page had over 600 comments. I read through them and they weren't fake. They were actual people giving thanks and adding valuable insite like small changes to his code that could increase speed and efficiency.

My point is, after looking over your free ebook, I think you could potentially do the same thing. List the table of contents on your site and follow it up with the first few "basic" chapters. Then, have a sales letter follow that with a buy now button to get the rest of the ebook (the price point can be split test to find the most profitable).

Hopefully, others can chime in who have used a similar technique. I think it has a lot of potential.

Wow, thanks a lot guys! Lots of good input here =)

There are soo many things I should do! Not enough hours per day to do everything. Do you guys have strict daily routines to get everything done?

        The Stardust Traveler:
I have been back and forth on the PCB-kit thought, but I think I will stay away from hard-goods and stick to information products.

Do you have a link to the website you found? I would love to go and check it out to get some inspiration.

Great job so far. My tip would be:

Find out who your main competitors are, and what they are doing. How does your offer stack up against theirs? Make sure you can improve on the competition, offer better value, or ideally differentiate yourself.

Never work in a bubble. Stay up to date with your market.

Also if you haven't already, you should setup a Google Alert for some main keywords, to get daily updates. This is really useful for finding the latest news and coming up with new ideas.
