Hello

I see lots of various "blackhat" techniques targetd around craigs list.

Does anyone used CL for marketing their products or is it too strict these days? I cant seem to find many ads on there for IM type stuff.

thanks

Justin

Post 2 ads at a time (diff subj & slightly diff body text) every 48-36 hours from a phone verified account. Outsource or partner with someone to hit on your off days.

Using *ANY* automated tools is dicey and will eventually be shut down. CL lawyers are on a rampage and have shut down at least a dozen 'tools' so far....think I'm wrong

    check out

    adsoncraigs.com
    craygo.com
    and
    easylivingsoftware.com

to name a few....more shut downs are on the way :/

There's a lot of truth to your statement, "CL lawyers are on a rampage and have shut down at least a dozen 'tools' so far."

I called one blackhatter a few months back. He had a website listing his service. His phone number was on his website. When I called he sounded strange. He said he sells software but that he doesn't know anything about blackhatting or something like that. He was giving me double talk. I said, "Hey man, did you get a death threat or something? Why aren't you being straight with me???"

Yeah, but even if you follow the rules, your ads tend to get flagged down within minutes, even if you are careful with the wording so it doesnt stick out as spam.

I think SeanIM is right about not trying to get around CL rules and just posting once every 24-48 hrs. That has worked for me so far. Any more than that and they will dis-allow your ads.
But don't discredit CL advertising. Even though it doesn't generate the massive traffic that Adwords does, there are several benefits:
    1) it's free
    2) The traffic you get is real. They're actually doing the search, so conversion is usually higher, percentage wise.
    3) If you target the right size city, you will see a good number of prospects.

I still use CraigsList even though I'm paying for traffic in other ways.

      I don't know.

But what I do know is that CL's 20 some employees are waging an uphill battle. And they're losing.

CL's war on spam reminds me of America's long standing war on drugs. They're getting their butt kicked.

CL had flagged me a lot I remember.

BUT it is also very powerful. They get thousands of visits a day so positioning yourself in front of it only makes sense.

I agree with the post above due to less competition it may even be better to start on there now.

My knowledge about Craigs List is that, what ever right way you use to remain on their positive list... They can flogg you out without any reason.

I have known some black hat specialists who are using black hat techniques with CL and are making a fortune.

I think craigslist is a waste of time in my opinion, you get flagged just as quickly as you put it up

I like that one, it seems very "clean".

You simply find someone that has a service. You offer to find them customers. You add a finders fee. You negotiate whether you will be sending a buying lead direct to the service provider or the lead will contact you direct and you give them a price. ( with your commission added of course.)

This way you never have to spam craigslist. You only need 1 good lead and you will make money.
