When I went and decided to learn a Spanish I met the owner of a school in the foreign country I was living in.

He said I can make money if I get students to register online.

Long story short and I now into IM. His primary website is in another guy's server, but I think he owns the domain. I messaged him and want to give it a shot.

What should I do? I want to make this an opportunity to learn and make some cash.

I have opened an account in fatcow and will be asking him to switch the domain to my host and i'll put a paypal button there. I'm thinking about getting the site redesigned and get SEO by paying someone and get a report of what he did. I could also add a product in there like a guide or a game or something then try to make it like that.

I know this is all over the place but I wanted to get input. Thank you!

Why would he switch the domain to your account? It sounds like he just wants to pay you for leads, not to put your own Paypal button on his site. Don't know, but that's what it sounds like to me.

I want to host it as I have an account. I could then look at the statistics if I host it right?

Well, if it were my domain and I wanted to hire someone to send me leads, I certainly wouldn't be transferring anything over to your own accounts. He'd be a fool to do that. He can easily give you access to stats.

well actually the domain is with some other guy who hosts basically all the schools in the region (and he gets the cut when someone registers). the domain is owned by the owner of the school and I think he would rather hand it over to me as this guy has not done anything but just collect (and also hosting other competitions site).

How are you intending to make money from this?

If you're getting students to register online, that would probably be through a squeeze page, with an auto responder and building a list for him.

The follow up messages may then promote the language course, and if you're an affiliate I guess that is how you'd make money.

I get a cut from the students that register in the site.

Hey man just buy your own domain name and put it on your own server. Even if he switches it over to yours, he still owns it. You should own it. It's cheap and easy.

Seems unlikely the guy will want to transfer something he owns over to someone else, are you sure you have not misunderstood?

Seems to me he might mean you become an affiliate of his site and he'll pay you for every lead you send?

He is not transferring ownership of the domain to me, I am just hosting it for him.

Also, I want to get the site redesigned and have SEO performed on it... the person that I hire to do this will need access to the statistics right?

I get a cut when someone registers in the website to attend his school. Is this a good model to follow?

Drive traffic to get extra cash from registration..
