First there was Clicksure and now..Clickbetter?

The reason the holes in that Swiss cheese are "ever-growing" is that ClickBank is finally getting a little more cautious and legally compliant over what it accepts. And a good job, too.

It's doing that for the same reasons that PayPal, Plimus (BlueSnap), 2Checkout and other places are tightening up in this increasingly regulated economic climate: the demands of their own upline financial service providers (i.e. credit-card companies).

In other words, they're "good holes" and we should all welcome them because they're allowing some of the fraudulent crap to be filtered out. That's good for internet marketing, overall. And these changes were much needed and long overdue.

And the reason companies like Clicksure have had their own PayPal account limited and are currently in such a mess is that they ignore the legalities and regulations (in Clicksure's case perhaps because they're based in China and felt - obviously mistakenly - that they could get away with it). :rolleyes: :p

I've never heard of "Clickbetter" and am casting no specific aspersions at all; but marketers should be increasingly careful with whom they decide to do business, these days, because some "accidents" are very foreseeable, exactly as was the case with Clicksure.

Despite ClickBetter looking remarkably like the old version of the ClickSure website, I can confirm that ClickBetter and ClickSure are most definitely not the same company.

ClickSure is not actually based in China... We focus on international processing solutions from our head office in China and through key partnerships in Mauritius, the United States and United Kingdom. ClickSure is actually registered in Mauritius and the support team for ClickSure are based in offices in the UK.

With regards to PayPal... after sending tens of thousands of dollars a week to our affiliates using PayPal, they took the decision to limit our account, despite us continuously trying to work with them.

ClickSure takes great pride in paying its affiliates and sellers on time every time, so we are now happy to announce that we have partnered with Payoneer to provide our affiliates and sellers with new and improved payment options. From the 1st of June 2013 all payments will be processed through Payoneer. This will allow you to have all your payments sent to one payment method at the fraction of the cost. No more being forced to receive payments below $1,000.00 through PayPal or US affiliates having to pay costly SWIFT fees. So as you can see, this is actually better for our customers. Depending on where you reside you can have all your payments (including small Paychecks), ACH'd directly into your bank account within a few hours of the payment being sent.

  From your head office in China? That sounds exactly like what most people call being "based in China", to me (even if it's technically registered in Mauritius)?

  I'm sorry I wasn't more detailed with my previous post. I will try to clear this up for you now.
  
  Yes indeed our head office is based in China, but we are an international company with a presence in multiple countries. As you correctly point out, the company is registered in Mauritius, the head office is China, and we have a presence in the UK too. Each section is responsible for different things.
  
  With regards to PayPal, we were processing affiliate and vendor payments through them for a short while before the account was limited. The account was initially limited due to the volume of transactions we were making. As is pretty standard with PayPal, we went through the usual verification processes, but given the scale of our operation, we were put in touch directly with a manager to try to resolve the issues on the account. Sadly, we were not able to resolve them, not because ClickSure is a 'shady' company, but because PayPal doesn't allow wire funding from Mauritius:

  What this meant, was that if we wanted to continue working directly with PayPal, we would have to stop funding the account via wire, and use a credit card instead. This was not really a viable option due to the weekly volume of transactions we are paying to affiliates and vendors (we have hundreds-of-thousands affiliates and hundreds of sellers. Of course, not all are active, but it still an immense amount of weekly transactions).
  
  Because of this, we have partnered with Payoneer to allow our affiliates and vendors to receive their payments via wire or PayPal if they want. This seemed like the logical solution and allowed us to continue offering PayPal as an option, which our affiliates and vendors made clear they wanted.
  
  So far, this solution has been very popular with our affiliates and vendors, and will hopefully continue to be popular.

  Looking at clicksure, clickbetter,, clickxxx from your CUSTOMERS point of view- the click experience is HORRENDOUS- you guys should be more about that. Right now I have been trying for days to contact them- no email address, customer service phone busy all hours day and night. Right now I can not buy 2 particular products - "problem" is my credit card is in scam status with them- my bank assures me there is nothing wrong- but guess what guys, I can't be buying YOUR products! You should all be concerned about that...you are missing sales.

Guffaw. I just notified Clickbank over a site they're promoting. The video says "$39 one time payment"... you click through to CB Processor and suddenly it becomes "$1 seven day Trial" converting to a monthly recurring payment of $91.

Their answer?

Please note that ClickBank is an online retailer for digital information products developed by thousands of independent vendors. Depending on the product you choose to purchase, you will find out whether it is a subscription or a one time payment. Please contact the vendor directly for further information.

So it seems they could care less that the product is advertised at one price and billed at another. 2nd response was

Please note that ClickBank does not endorse any product or service, please be aware that we are not experts on each of the 50,000 products that are sold in our store. These products have been written and developed by individual vendors that use our platform to sell their product. Think of ClickBank as similar to Amazon, but we only sell digital products. We are not the actual vendors of the products, we simply provide them a billing platform for their customers.

I cannot tell you what you will be expecting after your purchase because I do not know. If you select a product from a vendor's website, you will see the amount you will be billed at the time of purchase and if there are any future charges, it will be clearly noted on the order form before you place the order.

"We simply provide them a billing platform..." Uh no. You also facilitate their misrepresentation and fraudulent conduct, I would think. But there again - I'm no lawyer. All I know is it sucks to see a product advertised through CB as "$39 one time payment" and when you go to pay morphs into $1 Seven Day Trial and thereafter $91 recurring payment a month (until you cancel).

I'm completely on your side about this, Mal.

But - respectfully - I think you may slightly have misunderstood what I said, and why I worded it exactly the way I did: I referred only to the changes ClickBank has made with "what they accept", not with what they were already selling.

The glaring anomaly (to which your post actually draws attention, even if you hadn't quite appreciated the discrepancy) is that they have - as always - chosen not also to apply it retrospectively to things previously accepted.

To me, this has always seemed bizarre and illogical. To ClickBank it's apparently normal: whenever they change their acceptance policies, they don't go through all the already-existing stuff and make that all compliant as well. Isn't that weird? (I've been commenting on this, here, for years.)

It means that they're effectively inconsistent, in exactly the way you've highlighted.

It also means that some of the "worst offending sales processes" are the oldest and longest-established.

It also make the change far too gradual for some of us, albeit it that it's undeniably a very significant move in the right direction.

Highly unacceptable, I will certainly never do business with them again, either as a customer, vendor or affilliate.

Refunds are issued automatically - if you would like to get one, please use the automated form here: https://clickbetter.com/orderlookup.php and it will be processed within 24hrs.

If you've done that and didn't receive one, it's probably because you or the vendor changed the refund request to a support ticket - you'd just need to change it back to a refund then.

If you did that, then you would have gotten a refund... as we said, it's an automatic process. Depending on your credit card company, it can take up to 20 business days to appear on your statment.

If you haven't received it and it's been longer than that, it might be worth checking with your credit card company or emailing your order info to our support team at support@clickbetter.com and they'd be happy to help you out.

Looks like Clickbetter cant even handle soem traffic. Since the launch of BTC Robot they have been down most of the time.

Afifiliate commission were not recorded - and i have proof i sent buyers thst should have been credited to me!

So i dont know if they are just scamming or they indeed had tech issues!

Anyways...Clickbetter...you gotta be ready and have good servers if you want to be taken seriously!

I will probably NOT use them anymore...unless there is proof of tech issues!

We got hit with a massive DDOS attack two days ago and while our site has been slower than usual, it was down for less than 15 mins total.

BTC Robot's site was also hit with a huge DDOS attack and it was down for quite a while, so while our site was working, affiliate links for that product were going to an error page on BTC Robot's site or the pages were just not loading at all.

Because of the attack, there is a backlog of some sales that have not been added to ClickBetter yet and we are working to get those added in as soon as possible.

If you don't see those in your affiliate account by Monday, please email us at support (at) clickbetter (dot) com and we'd be happy to look into it for you right away.

We can assure you that there is nothing wrong with our servers or ability to handle huge amounts of traffic and process sales reliably.

Presently I am sending PPC traffic to some of your products (haven't made any sales though). Analytics are fine and load ASAP (better than ClickBank). I hope for making some bucks soon. I just pray that you are legit.

BTW is it possible to provide some earning proof of your affiliates over your site/blog? Since you are new it might help other affiliates to get into your program with trust.

Hey,

I've no affiliation with Clickbetter but I've been using them since umm.. May time I think it was?

Lots of launches in my niche have launched there, including myself twice, and I've been paid on time, big amounts of money too.

Tracking is good, realtime, better than Clickwank!

I've been affected by some of the DDoS stuff too, but that's out of Clickbetter hands.. And when I did talk to them about tracking problems they tried very hard to fix all issues asap!

Anyway, I haven't let the teething problems put me off since my account has probably had over 100k thru it in the past couple of months!

It seems to me, and I'm not trying to pass blame on anyone, that companies such as Clicksure or Clickbank would have real contracts and real contacts with Paypal BEFORE starting.

Can you imagine, for example, Paypal limiting Clickbank's account for too much volume? There's no way that a legit company like CB just went along and opened up a Paypal account the same as a regular old Joe. I can't even fathom that possibility but indeed may be wrong.

I know this is a really old thread but I am thinking about using them as a vendor but couldn't find any information about them. All I got was that you need $250 and 5 sales in order to get payments released. Does anybody know how often they payout?

Sure, there is a 2 week holding period between when the sales are made and when you are paid, so you are paid the 3rd week for any sales made 2 weeks prior.

If we've sent it on our end, then the next step would be to check with your credit card company on it's status. This is not an issue with ClickBetter or you getting the run around.

Also, many charges can simply be voided, so instead of you seeing a refund, it would just disappear from your credit card bill. But you would need to check with your card issuer on this.

are almost similar, but i would give clicksure the edge.

Leggally complient doesn't make it better free market and competition makes it better I know that most people don't get this I use to not get it myself but freedom and competition is what makes clickbank better when they have 100+ competitors I think that is a good thing!

9 out of 10 DDoS claims are the result of bad engineering and very rarely are a actual attack. The cry of DDoS from fly-by-night vendors has hit a crescendo.
