I was lucky enough to just spend a little bit.... but after that I spent hundreds of thousands trying to recreate that first sale.

Lol not thousands, but about $400 on PPC ads. Until i finally got 2 sales for $19 a pop. This was back in college. I invest smarter with advertising these days though.

Nothing. I made my first $20-$30 from a free blogger blog + adsense. Used that to buy a domain and hosting which continues to earn today.

You can buy solo ads for $20 build an email list and make money. If you have a system in place you'll make money.

I'd advise you to create your own product, build your email list and that way you'll start to build a real business online.

Back in the day when it didn't even bear the name of "Internet Marketing," it took me about a year, and, even than, getting a sale was the last thing on my mind, lol! It stumbled onto me and if I recall right, I don't know if the term "affiliate marketer" was used!

I actually didn't spend any, I was able to make $3,000 my first month with a squidoo blog and writing articles on ezine articles.

That's of course something that doesn't work any more, but I then took every penny of that money and reinvested it into hosting, domain, aweber and paid traffic.

It was that simple action that has allowed me to make up to $1100 a day...

About 2k in 2006 on a product and all the upsells (I was hooked) and didn't make a dime (well like 9 cents with adsense). I gave up for five years thinking all of IM is scam and came back in 2011, 5 years later. I bought a $40 product + domain/hosting and made a first sale within 2 week.

It just shows you that if you are serious about making money, and will actually follow through, you will make it.

Nothing. I made my first sales ranking a blogger blog for a new Clickbank launch. I've still to this day never bought a single internet marketing information product, the only thing I've spent money on is tools/software/other necessary expenses. Everything you could ever need to know about making money online is available online absolutely free! I wish people would start realising this instead of wasting their money on useless, rehashed ebooks.

About $70, as I remember. And that was about $50 more than I needed to spend (but when you're starting off and know so little, it's hard to know how/where to save on outgoings, and what to spend on).

I don't remember exactly but I spent a lot of money to create my first product, which I sold on eBay in the beginning, and later at my website, with more ebooks. I spent a lot more in the continuation, building my business. The beginning was nothing compared to what I spent later. Thousands…

My first sale, probably around $90, and that includes the cost of 1 year of hosting, a domain, and a course. However, don't get me started on how much time and other money that I have spent before that... Trying my best to keep it up.

It's possible but 99% of people who spend just $20 on solo ads will not be able to make any money. Most people who spend hundreds to thousands on solo ads cannot make any money.

Having a system in place is useless if that system is ineffective and your subscribers don't give a shit about it.
