3,100 page views on the keyword Singapore... How to monotize?

So I've got a blog post that was ranking for 'backing packing in singapore' and some how it's getting 3,100 and in the last 30 days it's got 3,100 unique visitors.

No traffic comes in from the original keyword as analytics says it's all coming from just the keyword 'singapore'. It beats me as I can't find it in Google when I just put in Singapore.

Originally it was a post on a blog to get people reading about backpacking in singapore and then sell them on the fact I have a make money online opportunity. I made $125 from one sale but considering I've got 8,650 unique visitors all up and made $125 it's acutally quite poor...

I'm just lost about how I should monotise these 100 visitors daily?

What would be the best thing to do with traffic from a broad term like singapore. This is also on a blogging platform where it is wordpress but plugins are disabled so I can use adsense or something like that.

I've checked out Affiliate Marketing - Find the Best Affiliate Programs and CPA Offers from OfferVault but I can't seem to find something for such a broad term.

Thoughts?

uIt's hardly surprising that people going to a website about Singapore are not in the least bit interested in trying to buy making money opportunities.

Give them what they want. Stuff about Singapore!! You could promote flights, hotels (if you broaden your keywords).

What you are doing at the moment is great. You are getting unique visitors. You just need to monetise your site.

Make an eBook about travelling to Singapore. Things you should know like local customs, any legalities that tourists should be aware of, getting a visa etc...

Get them to opt into an email list. Send them info on places to visit, food, etc... and then promote to them.

You could also have a series of questions on the page where they arrive asking them what their interests in Singapore are, why they searched for Singapore, what did they expect to find etc and then tailor a product for them, or advice etc.

Personally, without know what your site is trying to achieve, I'd probably move on. It's only one step down from the keyword "Earth".

      Here's another issue.

If I was looking for back packing in Singapore advice, where I'm unlikely to be lugging a laptop around, I'd probably immediately leave your page when you told me you had a "Make money online opportunity" as that's not why I visited your site.

I'd target people who want to make money online, as opposed to travellers.

If you cannot put Adsense code directly, you can direct some of these traffic to a self-hosted site and you can add it there. Other idea would be to take a look on how other people monetize this - I mean, take a look at your competitors on Page 1, ranking as well for this term.

Is also important to know what country are the visitors coming from. If is one of the countries where Amazon is available, then monetizing with backpacks, travel guides, cameras. You can also contact tour companies and offer them ad space. Make sure to analyze the analytics: country or origin, bounce rate and others will tell you if the visitors are finding what they are looking for. You can always create additional pages with specific topics related to Singapore all link to the main page getting the traffic, siloing the site will help you find what are the visitors looking for so you can present the best offer. Hope this helps.

Lol, OP. Who the F#%@ backpacks in Singapore!! Have you ever been? It's like NYC but newer and possibly MORE expensive! hehe

Ok...that out of the way and using that to your advantage... :-)

Hotels are awfully expensive in Singapore. I was there last year and had a room for $160/night that was older and a bit run-down...ouch! Your higher-end hotels are $200-$350 a night and up.

IF your readers are finding you mostly through Singapore-related keywords and not necessarily backpacking, adding some hotel reviews and using Agoda or Hotels Combined could be a smart move.

IF they are mostly backpackers, there are lower-end hostels and hostel-type hotels that are in the $35-$60/night range that you can still target. I'd also look at producing site/attraction content, using some great pictures, and consider becoming an affiliate for tours. Even budget-conscious backpackers might be interested in that.

IMstarter's advice is golden. Promoting tourists attraction would be ideal, as most people I can see searching for your web page would probably be tourists. I'm from Singapore
