How to use GetResponse lightbox in WordPress (?)

I found the GetResponse plugin that integrates GR with WP but can't seem to figure out how to use a lightbox only. I don't want anything in the sidebar/widget area, just a lightbox.

Anyone know how to do this?

I don't use GetResponse but I know in Aweber you can do it just by selecting the type of opt-in box you want when you're creating it. Check into the GetrResponse Knowledge Base and search for lightbox.

Thanks for the reply. It's not that I don't know how to create a lightbox - I do. It's that for some reason I can't get the lightbox to integrate to WordPress.

As far as I know with Aweber, it just spits out a javascript that makes it popup when the page loads, which you can put the script anywhere on the page. If that's not true with GR, then I don't know. Maybe you have to put the script in the header. Although, it's possible that your plugin isn't compatible with the lightbox option, so you might have to install, copy and paste, the script manually using your Wordpress editor.

Try removing the Widget from the sidebar. The lightbox should still work.

It's weird, because when I paste the code into the WP page, the opt-in form displays on the actual page and doesn't show up as a lightbox even though that's how I have it set in GR.

I don't have any sidebars displayed on the page the opt-in form needs to go on, so I still have the widget in the main sidebar but it doesn't matter because the sidebar isn't actually displayed anywhere on my site - I'm not using it at all.

Thanks for the suggestions though - I appreciate the help.

Yeah I would definitely send a support ticket into them then, there might be a bug they are or are not aware of and will probably hook you up with the solution. It is weird.

I actually called GR before I posted this thread and they said they can't help because, basically, it's past what their customer service offers, or something like that. They said they can only explain the basics of their plugin to people.

Thanks for following up. It's awesome to have someone from GR take a look at this for me. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what (I may be.) I'll send you a PM with my contact info.

      Thanks!

    Hi Matt,

Thanks . Do me a favour and remove the GR widget if you are not using it and use the java script instead, then test the lightbox. From what you say here, you don't actually have it displayed, but just try this for me.

Yeah I was under the impression the lightbox had to be javascript.

      Hi Marc,

The lightbox is Java script, but you can cut and paste the HTML code for it too from the form generator. I was refering to the GR WP widget Matt appears to have installed although he stated he's not using it in the sidebar.
