Submit to main URL or Inner Pages???

Hello Warriors!

Definitely a noob question... I know it's probably best to submit selected keywords to the respective inner pages, but it can be quite costly outsourcing. So, my question is, is it ok to regularly submit ALL keywords to the main URL? My thoughts are, in doing so, that the big G and the other engines would "figure" it all out and rank my pages accordingly. On the other hand, will it be my main page that shows up in search results for these selected keywords?

Any advice will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Some people attempt to micro-manage the placement of keywords to somehow influence the search results, but from my experience there are just too many variables in Google's methodology for this to be something you could ever rely on to produce consistent results.

It does matter, I would recommend creating an inner page for each keyword with some unique content etc. If you are trying to target the main page only, I wouldn't target more than 5 keywords or so and make sure the main page is well optimized for those keywords. Definitely build backlinks to all your inner pages though, that way Google sees your whole site with authority not just one page
