An Issue With Ezine Articles

Hi,

I have recently submitted 4 original articles to ezinearticles.com but have received notifications from them that there is a problem with the articles.

I am sure the issue is minor but their support system is very slow. They have asked me to email them to ask them what the problem is.

From your experience, how long to they take to get back in touch. I emailed them on Saturday, but I have had no response so far. How long should I leave it?

Regards,

Paul.

Can take up to two weeks in my experience.

    (Usually around a week tho)

EDIT: And by the way, get used to your articles getting REJECTED. eZineArticles is pretty picky.

    Hi Paul,

Please consider that it was the weekend. Getting answer from them depends on

    - their workload
    - staff numbers
    - holidays
    - their traffic

among others. So please be patient a bit. As I know they intend to answer you in a reasonal time.

    Cheers,

    Sandor

The last problem I had I received a reply in 24 hours.

I saw a tweet this morning though that they were dealing
with a 5 figure number of tickets from the weekend so
    that may slow things up.

I very rarely get an article rejected but when I do I just delete it from the system and put it on my own site because it's not worth wasting time going to and fro with their support.

In my experience, once they don't like an article it can be difficult to put right (depending on what the problem is). I had one article a while back that I submitted 4 times - each time I changed what I was asked they came up with a new problem.

Of course I was pretty annoyed at the time, but it was a lesson learnt. I can put exactly what I want on my own sites (and EZA are entitled to reject what they DON'T want), so I don't bother contacting support any more.

Here's 2 mistakes you probably made. You either put an affiliate link in your resource box or you were trying way too hard to keyword optimize the article.

For the 1st one: You need to buy a domain and have it forward to the affiliate product. If you need more help with this, let me know.

For the 2nd one: Try again and don't worry so much about SEO. Rewrite it and just let the words flow naturally. EzineArticles can smell stuffing (not the turkey kind) from a mile away.

Oh - and a new one that they're picking up on is if you have a huge resource box that is longer than the article but I have a feeling you did one of the two previous things.

      Jay,

Actually, I did neither. The articles were written from memory without any need to add extra keywords and the link is direct to a website (I'm promoting a service, not an affiliate). I guess i will just have to be patient.

I may choose another article directory or put them on my own site.

      Paul.

It depends on the reason for the 'hold'. Sometimes it's easily corrected ( i.e. keyword density ) whereas other times it may be something more fundamental that isn't so easy to rectify ( i.e. something intrinsic to the article ). I would say address it on a case by case basis. If it's anything to do with 'keyword abuse' it can be addressed in 30 seconds. I have had cases where another re-submission = another fault = something impossible to rectify but in the majority of cases I would say you can and should if you have the time.

In my experience with them it took between 1-2 weeks to get a response. I suppose their support system is so slow because there are many people who are posting articles every day.

I know it irritates a lot of people to hear that the solution is "Going Pro" , but I gotta say - I've never had an article rejected since I went pro. The senior editors know what they're doing!

Whatever the problem it is always indicated in the notice... try to review everything especially the part of the rules where the message tell you... No need to contact support.. just check your articles..

    Common issues:
    Direct promotion
Too many links on resource box
    Too long anchor text...

I had one last week that were rejected, when I didn't get a response after about 5 days I contacted them again and then got a response within 24 hours.

It turned out that my article was put into the 'rejected' articles by accident and in fact had nothing wrong with it and they then accepted it immediately.

So I wouldn't just delete the article from their system because it is rejected, often it is something that is simple to change and then it will be ok.

Agreed. They can be slow, but they usually respond and rarely reject in the end.

so far I have not had an article rejected (though i have only a few) but if and when I start article marketing in a big way it could happen and then who knows I may have to come back to this thread

I like EZA overall and I understand that replying back to authors can take some time. My only issue is a little pet peeve in the messaging service they use. When you contact them, you are taken to a screen that says something like "we will get back to you shortly". If their normal response rate is around the one week mark as I have found, they should alter or delete that sentence.

You've got a point there. There should be more transparency about this especially since it's so important to build good relationships with the people who essentially make them all their money.

I think EZA can be so irritating at times but the best piece of advice I'd give is to just stick with it and test out different resource boxes for maximum exposure. Get the resource boxes right and you'll get heaps of traffic.

Articles rank so well in Google and they can be easy ammunition for you to pick off long tail keywords.

It just took a day for them to respond to me after one article had a problem. After I fixed the problem, they published it right away. Maybe it's taking some time for them to respond to you because of the weekend
