Where do you outsource articles?

Hello,

I'm looking for places/sites where I can outsource some articles about dentist/medicine etc. It's quite hard to write such articles by myself since I'm not native and it would look extremely unprofessional.

Furthermore, I'm not looking for some cheap-spun-random content that people offer on iwriter and fiverr.

I want well written & researched articles that contain outgoing links to authority sites, bullet points, paragraph breaks and so on...

I was wondering that maybe $25 per 500 word is the right amount for that? Or are the prices higher? I haven't outsources any articles for long time, that's why I'm kinda confused about the situation right now.

I tried to lurk around the WSO section, but all I could see was "CHEAP WRITING $2.99 per 500 words, SEO friendly, native writers" such crap really turned me off and I quit searching.

If anyone knows some good copywriter and/or site where I can find such people then it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

    Hello,

Have you tried odesk or freelancer, or this forum ? The topics you have chosen are maybe the hardest to write about. Also for quality articles you will need to pay much more. If you choose to find a writer there you should write a good job description what exactly do you need, and carefully to select a writer. I will be glad to help you if you need assistance. Just PM me.

I highly recommend elance over odesk. My strategy with elance is I post a job for writing 5 x 500 word articles on the subject. Then you post job for several days to get bids. You will see a wide range in the prices you get for bids. I end up picking anywhere from 5 to 10 of the people that bid. That allows me to judge the quality of all the writers I select and then know which ones are good enough to turn to in the future when you need more writing done. By selecting multiple writers you can spread the cost out for example you can select someone bidding $50 and someone bidding $20 and then average out to $35 for work completed. You will know if the $50 is worth it or overrated or did you find a gem that writes well for $20. Plus it gives you enough articles for your website to drip feed in for several months.

Any specific reason for this? I've been using odesk for years and have worked with a lot of great contractors over the years without any issues.

      I second that.
      Try Elance

Rather than the virtual assistant resources mentioned above how about thecontentauthority.com ?

I have used and still do use oDesk and Elance for a whole host of different things, just not content, I leave it up to thecontentauthority as you can choose the level of quality (I usually choose "great") and it seems to work for me.

I have freelanced on both Elance and Freelancer.com (not writing words but writing code) and my preference is Elance overall. It is not as utterly frenetic there in terms of being completely swamped with bids from freelancers (I have been a hirer also) within 10 minutes like it can be on Freelancer.com.

Products like Freelance Sniper have evolved to try and give freelancers a chance at getting their bid in quick but as with anything 'quick' and 'quicker' it rapidly turns into an arms race..

      Just my 2c...

      Steve.

I would take a look at Constant Content. They have a lot of relevant sub-categories under Health and Lifestyles. You can either search through articles they already have written and buy the full rights or submit a request.

I have used hirewriters.com several times. The quality seems to be all over the place, however, the key is to provide detailed instructions as to what exactly you need. Once you have several articles written by different writers, you will know who to request in the future.

I have used Elance before, and it is still much better than so many other content writing services. People you hire on elance have to keep up their quality of work, since their clients rate them in their service. So, you can rely on the reviews there!

Great content can cost more that some of the solutions recommended, such as iwriter, and so on, but that does not mean that lower priced article writing services cannot be used for getting great content, even in the medical niche. It just depends on the writer that you get for the job. There are a lot of great writers working on low paying sites simply because they do not know how to get paid more. I suppose they are just waiting to be discovered...

Try Ranking-Articles.com. They will research and write for you and the prices are reasonable. Order one article and test it out. Good luck!

I freelance at iWriter.com which has 3 levels of pay. All writers start out on standard level, which does not pay nearly enough. A lot of people request articles at the standard pay level and wonder why they get garbage back - well when you are paying a quarter of a penny per word that's what you are going to get most of the time.

Since I do excellent quality work, I made it to the "elite" level in under 48 hours. Without having to pay their ridiculous $147 fee to be tested for advancement.

So now I am making $8.91 for 500 words. (and working off site with clients I've met there as well.) The quality of writers at that level is generally excellent.

If you are looking for a guideline of how much to pay for excellence without overpaying, $9 for 500 words is a decent exchange for technically correct articles in native English.

(I had an experience with someone needing a 500 word article for an endoscopic surgeon while I was still at standard level. I accepted the assignment and wrote what apparently was a shock for the requester - he wanted to know where I'd been all this time. My first thought was - if THIS is the quality you wanted for your articles, WHY are you paying crappy wages?)

I find that I often get the same response when I write articles. People don't believe that there are good writers available to do the work they need.

To attract competent writers for dentistry/medicine you should be prepared to spend at least $50 (often much more) per article. I have found that online sources are a crap shoot for finding specialized writers. Consider hiring undergrads or better with applicable majors from a local university. Place ads in campus newspapers.

No offense, but if you're making $9 for a 500 word for an excellently written article, then you're definitely shooting yourself in the foot.

Quite possibly, but I like that I can pick and choose assignments and the amount of work I want to do any given day without any deadlines other than the time limit once I have accepted a request.

It's not my only writing income, I take clients off of iWriter as well. As far as a middleman service goes, I think $9 for a crapshoot is a good price for a requester who wants to be sure they have a better chance of getting good work.

Obviously the best quality the OP is going to get is away from any middleman service, and the best rate of pay for a freelancer is going to be the same. However the OP wanted to know about the middleman services and rates of pay.

  • When it comes to medical field its very difficult to find a writer for that unless he / she is also studied in medicine because there are lots of scientific term on it which only you and medical profession knows that.

I use iWriter : Article Writing Service | Get Content For Your Website, Cheap!

Good prices, and you have the ability to reject an article should it suck. You can save writers too, I've got a nice batch of writers that I know write to a high standard in my favorites list.

The best gigs on iWriter come from requesters who love the writers work. There are a lot of listings in the elite and premium levels right now that will never be picked up by elite writers - the requesters either have confusing / ludicrous special instructions, or rejection rates that make even trying not worth the time. (One person in there right now with like, 5 requests, and a 67% rejection rate for work submitted. Who in their right mind, who has earned the top level skill pay, would even bother? lol)

In the short time I've been on iWriter I have built a decent list of people who have me on their favorites list. I've had some great work come out of that.

So iWriter may really be for safely testing the waters, then finding people you want to work with forever *chuckle*
