As the title really. I am building a website for a friend of mine who sells car parts he has a physical office and physical stock in the warehouse. He seems to have hit the limit of what he can do through the phone business wise and now needs to expand online.

In I come, I can build sites (mainly using CMS systems) I just can't or don't know should I say on how to market it. Where to start what to do? The site is SEO optimised and submitted to Google. Where is the next step? Building links? Where do you go with that, are these sites you pay us X amount and we will write you a keyword rich article and publish it to X amount of blogs are they a viable option?

So many questions I just haven't a clue. We want to hit worldwide essentially as we can supply parts to countries that can't actually get those parts that are readily available here.

Here's the site in question:

Lymm Engine Components

Any suggestions guys? What about Ad Words is that worth a punt? How much would we be looking at spending on Ad Words?

What if you start planning based on the budget for this? Then, you can think what's the best way to use this amount of money. But I agree with articles. Having a blog there with helpful keyword reach articles would really help.

Articles would certainly help. Make a list of ALL the ideas you have and then work out what budget you have to play with and take it from there.

Invest in engaging product descriptions that your visitors can use as a resource. Also, build a mailing list.

    Hi Nick,

This is a pretty tough assignment you have here. I can only suggest you model what you do on other company's websites.

I would not consider Adwords - but then I never do.

    A couple of good examples.

    Axminster Tools

    Andertons Music

Both of these websites have grown from little local businesses into UK national businesses. I know because I have used them both over the years. They also write about once a month by email to all their customers.

chose your most important keywords and start blogging about them, write articles and upload them to the main article directories to get backlinks....
If you have a marketing budget, you could also start with google adwords or similar, facebook might be even better and more targeted....
just search about getting traffic here in the forum and you will find tons of infos how to drive more traffic to your website....

Some of the parts you're selling are so specific if you
create a page for each part you're selling optimized
for the name of the part chances are that's going to
come up in the search engines when people search
    for it.

Start adding hundreds of pages like that with a call
to action on why they should order from you and exactly
how to do it and you should have a serious search engine
    magnet.

The good news is this is totally white hat.

If each page contains quality content describing the part...
preferably with a picture but that's not vital...then the
search engines are going to see the site as a resource.

For broader search terms you can have a page for those
too...perhaps with a list of links to specific part pages.

And yes articles will help but think about it...if someone
wants a very specific part that's what they're going to
    search for.

And you want to be coming up for those hundreds or even
    thousands of search terms.

The easiest way to do that is simply to start adding pages...
each with content on a specific part.

    Kindest regards,

Many thanks, going off this I think adding payment information to the product descriptions will be a must then just have to write out a generic one and apply it to all products that way google will hopefully see it as an article maybe. Going off your page title suggestion thank you I am now just nipping through and making the product names less "generic" and more specific to what it fits.

There are several methods you can use when promoting your site. Some are...

    - Forums
    - Blog commenting
    - Guest posting
    - Writing articles
    - SEO
    - Creating newsletters
    - Social Bookmarking
    - Blogging
    - Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest)

The trick is to pick 2 methods you believe you would enjoy doing then stick to only those methods. Once you see results move to to 2 new methods.

After you have tried every method discard the ones that are not producing results - and focus on the ones that are.

If I personally were you I would focus on the SEO part and Social Media. These two alone if you mater it -- can bring you unlimited amount of traffic and customers.

      Awesome,

Thanks for the info by SEO what are we talking like SEO friendly product titles? Descriptions on the site and so forth?

We have a Facebook page I just need to push it I have been joining car parts buy / sell pages and asking admins can I put up an advert some say yes and some say no. Is that a good way on going about it?

How about using directories such as YELL and the likes contacting garages via email? How can you write a convincing marketing email without sounding like just another telesales person?

      thank you

You should have blog posts written around your keywords and location published at least every 3 days. Then, instead of posting keywords rich articles on any blogs, you should focus on the articles directories. I've gained a lot of traffic this way, and only visitors interested in what I have to sell. Also, don't forget about the social networks. Keeping in touch with old and current customers should be important, especially since you can attract their friends, but these are just my ideas. Good luck!

      Many thanks mate,

Where do you suggest I get a blog going? Should I use wordpress with a nice theme maybe blog about Local car show/Race days that kind of thing? We can go attend?

What is an Article Directory? How does it work. Sorry for the question I am literally a blank book with this stuff.
