Changing my official LLC name - Need Suggestions!

Hey guys, Jonathon Locke here. I have a couple of LLC's, and right now I'm starting to use one as my main "offline consulting" front. As such, the current name isn't really relevant, and I need ideas for a new one! I'm hoping to send in the amendment to the articles of organization tomorrow, so any ideas you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated .

The main focus of the business is getting offline owners online, as well as maximizing their profit potential (by following up with walk-in customers, etc.). I was thinking of having "marketing" somewhere in the name, or "consulting". A few ideas I've had so far are:

Linked Marketing LLC
Connected Marketing LLC
Prestige Consulting LLC
Upload Marketing LLC

Those are just the ones that I could think of. Thanks guys!

All the best,
Jonathon Locke

    Hi Johathon,

    It's been a while!

    How about,
    Locke Marketing
    Locke Consulting

That would work for you. It wouldn't work for me as it would appear that I sell
Mayonnaise or teach people how to spread it on bread...lol

Hope that Helps. It's Good to see you again,
    Have a Great Day!

      Hahaha... Michael, that's Awesome!

Using the word Group seems to have good connotations without sounded super-invented.

So The Locke Group - Highly recyclable too!

Dag Nab It, I meant to include that one and got stuck on the Mayo
thing. Some one should have told me to "Hold the Mayo"

"Consulting" is very vague and should only be in your title if you are a pretty large holding company that has several different consulting outfits IMHO. Upload Marketing LLC doesn't make sense to me - what is that? I like Linked Marketing and Connected Marketing because they indicate that your job is to "link" or "connect" the offline world with high-tech solutions. Those two names sound nice to me - descriptive, concise, easy to remember.

    My two cents.

    Michael,

Depending on what you plans are you will probably want to have a LLC for your accounting, For your Marketing and a 3rd for your offline biz.

Additionally, its a good idea to keep a spare unused for back up if any of the LLC's get attacked

As to the name, Linked Marketing probably has the best opening for a logo.

Yea linked marketing appeals to me as well... and Locke Marketing is a great idea Michael, thanks for that! I would have to make sure to cleeaaaarly explain my name and what I do, so that they don't get confused with sandwich spreads LOL!

The only issue with Linked Marketing is the .com is taken. I've grabbed the .net in case I go with Linked Marketing LLC... what do you guys think? Is is a big deal if the website on my business cards is .net? Buydomains.com wants 2,700 for the .com version, so I'll be passing on that for now. Thanks for all of the ideas guys, and if you have any more, keep them coming! .

The other thing to watch out for is name availability. It would seriously suck to go with a name and then end up having to change it after you've started building your reputation. That's why you see those construction type companies with ridiculously long names. "Downhome Builders of Hickville AR... Not Redneckburg AR Inc"

Good point Dan; I've already done some checks to make sure all of my possible names are available. Currently Linked Marketing LLC is, so I think I might go ahead with that name and have andreoni.com work up some plastic business card designs... They do some impressive work, if you are looking for some cards I would suggest checking out their plastic business cards section.

Anyways, thanks for all of the ideas guys - any suggestions for website names other than linkedmarketing.net so that I could maybe have a .com name instead?

    All the best,
    Jonathon Locke

Remember that you are branding yourself so you want something that you can build a brand around.

Why the choice of LLC though? Besides the fact its easy to maintain. If it's active income you are able to write off more with an S-Corp. If any one wants to talk to their CPA/Accountant specifically about what I am talking about bring up the salary dividend split and being able to avoid SE tax. Go read the book Lawyers Are Liars by Mark Kohler as well.

@Mark Riddle - why in the world would you recommend to setup a separate LLC for your accounting? Maybe you know the OP and he is an accountant as well and runs an "accounting" business? Other than that it makes NO SENSE to have a completely seperate LLC for accounting purposes.
