Oops! Sorry LOL = Laugh Out Loud.

The word "thrust" is also used in a sexual context in English. But, don't let that stop you with the domain name. I think it's a good one!

Adthrust would be a good brand name in the long run, but is not as good for self advertising as a more descriptive name. Perhaps a second advertising information/education site could be your main traffic driver.

adopti makes those other names at first glance, look like adoption related sites.

adthrust.com is easy to remember, its short and looks cool.
I would have gone for adoptimizer if that one was available with .com instead of .co

Hola Ricardo, adthrust.com is a good domainname, as datingworld indicates is short and easy to remember. This is the one I like the most

I would go with adoptimizer.co as it sounds more professional than the rest.

From keyword point of view easyadoptimizer.com is my choice.

I am given to understand that.com is more preferred by millions than compared to any other. So.co is not in my list and adthrust.com is a bit away from the optimization work you want to do.

    Wish you all the best!

adoptimizer.co sounds more business like and will be better with SEO too.

    Good luck!

I'm guessing from the fact that adoptimizer.com isn't on this list that that name already belongs to someone else, Ricardo?

In which case, out of these three, I have to vote for "adthrust.com" even though I dislike it.

There's no way I'd build a business on a domain-name of which the .com version already belongs to someone else. That's all downside, relatively speaking, and for several different reasons.

I wouldn't dream of using a ".co". That loses traffic to the owner of the .com, causes confusion, looks strange, and so on. (I know some people do it and don't care, but I would).

Having "easy" on the start of the domain-name wouldn't be suitable for me at all: I'd worry that it looks to people like I thought of the name "Ad Optimizer" but couldn't register the .com, and just put "easy" on the front.

Also, "optimizer" is a word which requires a little thought and care, it seems to me, because although that's the clearly the correct US spelling, in all the rest of the English-speaking world, I think that would be "optimiser", with an "s"? Just like the last word of "SEO" is spelled "optimisation" rather than "optimization", strictly speaking, anywhere but the US?

Apologies for sounding negative and unhelpful (if I do), but these are really things I'd want to think about, and take care over, in choosing a domain-name for a new business. For me, it would be "back to the drawing-board", here.

Explained in post #6 above. (I don't hate it - but I do think the connotation is probably less than ideal. Maybe I'm being too "picky" about it and that doesn't altogether matter, though?).

I wouldn't use any of those choices. Even AdOptimizing.com is a better choice, and it's available.

Well, my golly ... why wasn't AdOptimzer.com your first choice????

Did you check its availability before starting this thread? If so, you need to find out where you went wrong because Gene has found that it is an available domain.

If optimizing ads is the service you plan to offer, I would jump all over AdOptimizer.com or go with EasyAdOptimizer.com.

The supposition is that adoptimizer.com had gone. (And it had, too).

Not quite ... he found that adoptimizing.com is available. Different name. (But probably better than what's above, I agree).

I had the same reaction - I thought it was about easy adopting...

      I might try something like - optimizeyourads.com

Of course, if you do add the caps like Gene suggested in his example, you could go with the adoptimizer or adoptimizing domains...

I just want to clarify - AdOptimizing.com isn't a particularly great domain name either, but it is much better than the three other options.

I`d advise you to make a poll from now on.. results are clear now, but if you`d have almost the same numbers for all the domains, tracking them would have been a pain in the back.. adthrust is ok, but from now on, don`t ask for domain opinions like that, you could end up having them registered by someone else.. don`t forget that this is a public forum..

Unless, of course, you feel like registering them all before you ask, which isn't exactly economical.

But this is what I thought right away - you gave a public forum a list of domain names...

I'd like to add that I liked AdThrust best... and I was surprised at how quickly people jumped on the sexual connotation aspect. I have a feeling the general public wouldn't be so quick. I'm a martial artist and the first thing I thought of was thrusting a punch or stab with a weapon. *shrugs* And I didn't think of it in any term other than "thrusting into the spotlight" until I saw others mention it. To each his own.

I like adthrust.com as well, with the following disclaimers...

    1) Since it is not particularly descriptive (well, not of what you are promoting, anyway) this is what would be considered a brandable, and there is an extra burden on you to have to educate people about what it means. This does not necessarily have to be a negative thing. You can turn it into an opportunity. Just make sure you are capitalizing on that opportunity the moment the name gets people's attention, or you may lose them before they give you a chance.

    2) This name has a very strong personality. If your product and/or web site don't live up to that, then you will lose people who are disappointed and feel mislead by the false promise of something Exciting! Dangerous! Thrilling! Sexy!

In it's favor are some very strong positives... it is short, it is powerful, it is connotative, it rolls off the tongue easily and it is memorable. Oh, and it is a .com

And if all else fails, it is the only one of the group that likely has any resale value.

I say that is the clear choice.

    My vote is for adthrust

It's short, it's a .com, and it's distinctive - it's easy to remember and share.

Sure it's a little in your face - but that's not such a bad thing...
