Thanks for the transfer code. I will be transferring a lot of domains soon... and I had forgotten what they told me the transfer discount code was.

Your welcome Dennis, if you can find the price for transfers (not sure if it is $8.81) please post it as it may help others...

It was very close to that price when I trasferred some domains a month or so ago. I believe it was less than $8. I looked at my account and can't find order details for the transfer.

In either case it is extremely cheap and privacy guard is free with the transfer just like it is in a new registration.

Actually I think I just tracked it down. I found the debit. It was $6.99 per domain. That is a really good deal on transfers.

Side note... I do remember the hassel I went through. DO NOT wait until the very end to transfer a domain. Transfer it at least a week before it expires. Otherwise you won't be able to use Namecheap's automated transfer system.

You will have to open a chat and do it manually.

Yeah I found that out long time ago when I first went to NameCheap from eNom... lol Like many I thought if I transfered too early I would lose a week or 2 on my registration, which is not the case...

I do all my domains through GoDaddy using the discount code OHY3 and I end up paying just over $7 for a registration. They are a bit cheaper for transfers from memory...

Very true, I used GoDaddy with their ZINE3 coupon code a month ago for a $7.49 registration (don't know if that one still works). You get an extra year on transfers which is awesome. I don't think NameCheap offers that one, and they're a bit more expensive.

The good thing about NameCheap, though, is that they aren't domain Nazis! I've heard bad things - never experienced, but heard stories on this forum - about GoDaddy threatening to suspend domains on a whim. *shrug* So far they've been nice to me, and I try to stay out of trouble.
