Best Method/Software to make and distribute an ebook?

Hi,
I am still newbie in Ebook so I'd like to know which is the best method/software to make and distribute an ebook (both pdf files and kindle books). I am using open office but I am looking for a more interactive and thorough way (a software that can also make cover, add youtube videos, photos easily). Please help me. I will be really appreciated

PS: I see some internet marketers create their own digital signature which is really cool. Could anyone please show me how to do it?

    If you really want to be serious about publishing ebooks, I'd suggest you plop down some cash and learn how to use professional-level publishing software -- programs like Adobe Creative Suite (with Indesign and Photoshop) and Adobe Acrobat Pro. This will put you in complete control of the design and layout of your books, which can then be exported as PDFs, Kindle, etc. Once you get the hang of using Adobe Creative Suite, you'll never look back.
