There are numerous sites, I say numerous because I don't care to count how many, that take all the stuff you post here there and everywhere and scrape it then embed it in their own sites with the excuse of publicly available.
Some of these sites add an additional excuse that they are just like the search engines and therefore have no legal issues stealing the content.
Now, this is not just linking or using iframes they actually download and host the content on their own web space without permission.
For instance information you post here on WF can be found on at least 3 other sites word for word. If you edit it here, the information does NOT change on the others. Say you use linkedin and upload your image and details there, it won't be solely located there but on over 100 other sites that take the content directly and place advertising and monetisation around it.
It's theft and they financially gain from it without your say so or sending you a dime. Some of these sites are porn and malware sites that have YOUR name and image on it. Scraped directly from linkedin, facebook, here and just about any other website you have any real association to and many you don't.
Pisses me off.
Use the SE's to see what and where your content, images and personal information is being published from it will surprise you.
