Subscription website using WooCommerce

I am trying to create a paid subscription wordpress site. I want to restrict access to certain content and have a recurring monthly charge.

I've been exploring multiple plugins, I want signup, membership settings, and cancelation to be simple and easy - ie the user can go in and do it on their own.

I would like to have two options for payment, Amazon payments and Stripe. The bottom line here is that we need to be able to take international payments as well.

The best option I have found is WooCommerce (Free) + Groups (Free) + WooCommerce Groups Extension ($79) + WooCommerce Subscriptions Extension ($199) + Amazon Payments Extension ($79) + Stripe Payments Extension ($79)

This would theoretically create a paid membership site with a recurring subscription charge that would give users 2 different payment options, Stripe or Amazon.

If anyone has used this method to create a site I would really appreciate some feedback and insight as to whether or not it works well and if it has any pitfalls or bugs that I should be aware of and I am also open to suggestions to other methods of creating a membership website.

The other membership site plugin I was looking at was wishlist member, but it seems like it needs some custom coding work for integration with stripe.

For those who have set up membership sites - do you recommend this route? what's the best way to set this up with the first priority being ease of user experience?

    Janglee,

Personally, I don't recommend what you're attempting to do. Rather than trying to "duct tape" six different software platforms together, I would suggest you find one all inclusive hosted solution like Membergate (or similar) and don't take on all the technical challenges/problems that always seem to pop up when you try to go with lots of add-ons.

You said your first priority is ease of user experience. My opinion is that you won't get that by sticking a bunch of random platforms together in hope of creating a seamless user experience. Plus you'll no doubt have to upgrade each software regularly and there is no guarantee that everything will keep working even if you do manage to get things going right off the bat.

Membergate is probably a more expensive solution once you're up and running than what you're proposing; however, if you have a simple to manage and well-functioning site, you will get a lot more members than if you don't and they will pay for your site's cost over and over again. You want to be freed up from time-wasting and costly site fixes so you can focus on adding value for your members.

Don't be short sighted in trying to save a few bucks on your membership platform. In the long run, your happy members will more than pay for your platform. Plus, Membergate includes group discussions, unlimited member levels, download capability, built-in affiliate program, banner ads for the site, site searching, built-in blog, classified ads, shopping cart, surveys, content syndication, public and member areas, daily stats, and much more. There are lots of ways to monetize this membership site.

No, I am not an affiliate for this platform.

    The very best to you.

Wishlist is currently in beta for Stripe payments.

I like the look of MemberMouse which does now support Stripe and Braintree, but not Amazon payments. I'm not aware of any wordpress membership plugins which support Amazon payments. Memberpress also supports Stripe.
