Hey Warriors,

Which font style and size do you use for "Ugly Duckling Video Sales Letters"? Has anyone tested different kinds of fonts in these video sales letters? If so, which works best?

Thanks Warriors!

Helvetica is pretty common (maybe cause it works the best). I usually go for Century Gothic and if needed - Arial.

    Web Guy,

No, I haven't tested anything like this but logic would suggest that you not use any stodgy, ornate, classical, or formal typography. I would look more toward something
    • Easy to read (so probably not a script or cursive font)
    • Normally associated with cartoons or children's literature
    • Fun and "not too serious" that fits the mood of the sales letter (at least for a heading)
    • That isn't tiring or hard on the eyes
    • Probably sans-serif
    • Probably 12 pt, maybe 14pt, but no smaller
I'm thinking the following fonts might do well for the body text:
    • Calibri
    • Century Gothic
    • DejaVu Sans
    • Eras Light
    • Gill Sans MT
    • Lucida Sans
    • Myriad Web Pro
    • SF Cartoonist Hand (smaller than usual so 16 pt)
    • Technical
    Just my thoughts,

    Steve

Oh, VSLs. You've got some great suggestions here. Add Verdana and Tahoma into your testing mix.
