      That's what I was about to ask. If you're the owner of a Forum, Google Adsense is a good way to go to generate some money. The search engines love forums because they're full of content. You first need to drive users to the forum and get people talking. It's all down hill from there but it takes years to generate something worth while.

      If you're a user on a Forum, links to your website/market in the Signature area is almost the only way to go.

      Sensitive as in 18+? Then you're not allowed to use Adsense.

    Just have a look around the WF what Allen does, I'm sure he's making a pretty penny ;-)

    - sell banner ads
    - post your own banner ads and drive traffic to your other sites/targeted offers
    - introduce paid threads e.g. WSO thread here and others
    - paid special forums like the Kindle forum here
    - Infolinks
    - charge for a link in the signature
    - charge for being a member of your forum like here in the WarRoom
    - build a list from your members and sell something to them
    ...

    There are endless possibilities! It all depends on the forum topic, how popular it is and in the end how much work you're willing to put in!

    Pull out all the top forums and study how they monetize theirs and also look deeper into the ones in your niche and also see how they are handling theirs.

    Do not limit yourself or go by what others are doing, it's just to give you idea and open up your eyes and mind.

    Monetization can also vary from market to market and also largely dependent on the volume of traffic your site receives.

    Use the advanced search facility on FindAForum and you can pull out forums that have AdSense on them. You can also search for those who solicit DONATIONS and also those who allow SPONSORSHIP.

    In the case of sponsorship, most forums seem to allow companies to sponsor a particular section of the forum. It's very common in the car niche.

    Oh, and if your forum is big then submit it to FindAForum (provided it's not adult content, though I'm OK with controversial and medical stuff).

    You already have your answers above. Run an ad in the WSO if it is related to the niche you are in.

    Use forum signature and try and make 1-3 help posts every week. With time people will see you as an expert, click your signature link, head over to your website, signup to become your subscriber and hopefully make purchases from you.
    Dont sweat it and dont over complicate it too
