4000 clicks 3 sales with clickbank product?

I have had almost 4000 clicks to my affiliate pages on 3 clickbank products...all targeted through my sales pages...the 3 products all have a fairly high gravity. I have only 3 sales? Is there a problem there? Can somebody be stealing my commissions? Is that even possible?

  • Actually, I have the same kind of question. 12,000 clicks for me with only 10 sales. I feel your pain and if someone can tell us both what's up, I will appreciate your guiding hand very much.

Looking forward to receiving your information.

    Thanks.

If this is happening then the sales page for the product is bad and/or the pre-sell you are giving is not enough information.

Maybe try using an email optin and send them emails promoting the product and similar products too.

You could even get a bit user-friendly and use a script that basicly asks them if the article/information was useful and you can see what the feedback is like.

Try and get into the shoes and mind of your potential buyer and appeal to them.

Ouch! I hope you guys didn't PPC.

Focus on Keywords and Quality Articles.
I ran campaigns on 20 articles that all contain Clickbank affiliates.
The worst one had 385 clicks and 1 sale...the best one had 6 clicks and 3 sales
First, create as many articles and campaigns as possible
Next, analyze why one worked and the other didn't.
Finally, focus on improving the ones that worked.
Trial and error, I don't know how else to do it.
If someone knows of a better way please let me know!

Make sure the keyphrases that you target are well chosen, preferably buying keyphrases.

Then make sure that the articles and information you give fully describes the keyphrase and all possible options and things that the reader would want before buying or being sent to a further pre-sell page.

Like others said above, it either comes down to how targeted your traffic is, the presell you're doing or the sales page of the products. Simple to say, more difficult to deduce which it is. Best thing you can do is test.

The problem is that your traffic is not targeted to:

People already looking to buy the specific product already but who are browsing to make a final purchase decision.

    Example:

You could have 4,000 clicks from those "just browsing" to find out about new music....you would get a few downloads of the new U2 CD you are selling as an Amazon affiliate

    Versus

10 clicks from people who where looking for a review of the new U2 CD on amazon, but your page came between them and Amazon...now you have up to 20% conversion.

You need to sell to more people who are already looking to buy.

With my site I learned a while ago that people searching Google about how to "license a Beatles song" bounce under 1 second - I could see it in the stats. I thought writing blog posts about that would be an interesting story and would bring "traffic" becuase it was a popular keyword nobody was writing about.

However, those searching specifically for "free royalty free music" stay for up to 5 minutes, and sign up for my mailing list. Thats when I learned that I don't want "traffic", I want visitors who are prequalified leads.

You just can't mess around with generalities on the Internet. People find EXACTLY what they want on your site (or the affiliate site you are promoting), or they leave within 1 second.

I agree totally with dndoseller, everything depends on the targetness of the traffic.

For example, I got 12 hops for a product I am promoting and got 1 sale while another product with traffic from God knows where got more than 122 hops yet no sales.

  • Thanks dndoseller for your insight. I'll just be glad to get the inside scoop on exactly how to do this so that I can start making some "real" money online.

Any succinct directions on how I can get this done will be most appreciated.

    Thanks again.

I've never had much success with Clickbank -- move to CPA brother Much easier conversions to be had.

        To your success,

I had 1/3,000 and decided that was enough for me. I now very little CB sites and concentrate on my own products or physical products with haffilaite tracking I feel I can trust.

I was just about to come in here and say what everyone else has already beat me to - that sounds like untargetted traffic!

Mine should be targeted as most of my sites were on Googles 1st page...dipped lately as I kind of stepped away for a while...that was basically my only marketing for the last couple months. I guess maybe my keyword phrases were not buying phrases but then why would they click through to the merchant page?

I might try some other stuff now...I got accepted to a CPA today and actually made a sale so I might keep on that...mixed with my 22 cents a day fron Adsense I'm laughing

Look out for sales pages that have optin forms. Often you will not get any credit for sales generated from the "free courses" sales funnel.

Try googleing for the method to bypass the sales page in CB and use your own. Send them from your sales page right to the order page at CB
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[825761].message }}
  • That may be exactly what is happening with my sales. Can you tell me how to do this for a product other than CB?

    Thanks.

maybe your potential customer found the product through your advertising and then decided to do more research and went through other affilliate websites promoting the same product and then later bought giving them the credit not you!?

How are you tracking the traffic? I assume 4000 clicks to, but how many clicks on the products from your page?

Knowing this difference may help with determining:
    • If your campaigns are well targeted to your page
    • If your page is a good pre-sell for the products
Tracking page exits can be vital in determining traffic flow.

Webwyn's question is the key here. It sounds like you've gotten 4000 clicks to your webpage but how many of these clicked on your CB hoplinks? The "sale to hoplink CLICKS" ratio is what I would really look at.

      Cheers

Not all traffic is created equal!

What is the method you are using to drive the traffic?

If you say PPC, then you obviously don't have the proper keywords which converts to sales!
