Alternatice payment processor ?

Hi
besides CB and Paypal, what other processor do you use ?

I live in South Africa, so Paypal is out, and CB payments takes like forever.

Please share your suggestions and experience.

Thanx !

I also use Moneybookers and iCoins. iCoins, by the way, has this pretty nifty application over at Facebook that allows you to send and receive money within the said site. Don't hesitate to let me know if you're interested to add the application and I'll send a few bucks your way just for you to check it out

depends on what you are selling. I see e-junkie.com a lot lately for digital products and they seem to be cheap.

Has anyone tried PayPay.com? I stumbled across them by mistyping "PayPal" and am curious if they're services are any good.

grumpyjacksa, I don't know much about South Africa, but one thing I would consider is what payment processors are customers there comfortable using? Which ones do other SA companies use?

There is a problem with many of the alternative ones suggested here- if you are selling to the USA, many customers will not be familiar with them and thus may not trust them or may not be willing to create an account with them just to buy your product.

For example, if a product is being sold using PayPay, I would pass on it since I've never heard of that company.

2co is widely known here and in Europe; that would be a good one to go with if they will accept you.

I'm surprised to hear PayPal doesn't operate there. Does ebay do business there?

Try to use 2co or moneybookers. I tried them both before when the time I don't have a paypal account.

I use a custom payment processor I created. It uses my merchant account (via authorize.net) or paypal (I know, you can't use them).. I am working on integrating google checkout as well.

I think amazon has no launched a payment service but I am not sure what the rules are for people outside of the US.

Hi grumpyjacksa * cute name :-P

Anyway, who said you cant use Paypal? I know a few IMers from there who i have succesfully helpes to use Paypal in their marketing business.

You will be losing out if you dont use Paypal, as many people only use and trust Paypal for their online purchase. 2co comes close to help you out, but by experience, i know its nothing like how Paypal is.

I used to sell a ebook on this at MoneyMaker's Lifeline but i stopped it after Paypal gave me a nice threatening email to not sell and distribute this ebook, or else they send in their lawyers to "talk" to me. Its so sad, as it closes doors for IMers from there to use Paypal.
Send me a PM, and i will give you a complimentary download for the product. On me. :-)

Not sure if it helps, but it will sure reveal a few loopholes that you might not know off.
