Do you guys mail your list every day?

I mail my list everyday for the first week, and then after that I switch to every other day....I am new to email marketing and testing some strategies out...

I know it depends on many different factors but...

Are you guys in favor in mailing your list everyday or do you have a more sporadic approach?

Some weeks I will if I have important things to share but on average about three times a week. I feel it is good to mix it up now and again.

I agree, it's good to mix it up.

I know people who mail their lists more than 2, sometimes 3 times a day. I think that's overkill. I unsubscribe from all of those once I notice that happening.

Keep in mind that many of your subscribers will be on multiple lists. You want to be the one that stands out with original content and good value. As long as you're doing both of those things, you can pretty much email your list as often as you want.

Someone posted in the forum the other day that when he doesn't get emails for a couple of days in a row from a particular marketer, he actually worries that he may have accidentally unsubscribed. You want to be the marketer that instills that kind of desire in people to read your emails. When you get to that point, it really doesn't matter how many times a day/week you email your list.

In short, focus more on the value you give your subscribers as opposed to how often you email them. For now.

I email my list every day for 6 days when they just sign up. After that, i just email them whenever i want additional views on a post or affiliate link.

A cool trick for getting better open rates when you email every day, is to say something like

"and dont forget to watch out for my email tomorrow! I have a feeling you're going to enjoy it"

    Make them anticipate it!

Thanks for sharing this one. I agree it's more effective to prep your list to set their expectations.

The frequency of my emails depends on the niche of my list.

For some, once a week is almost too much, and for others almost every day is perfectly acceptable.

But I listened to Matt Bacak and Shawn Casey recently, and they swear by mailing daily. They say if you don't, someone else will.

Also, emails are changing. People's inboxes are not so often 'emptied'. And therefore you have to find a way to get through.

One thing is certain. If you don't email - you CANNOT make any money! :-)

The question should be "Do You Try To Sell Your List Everyday?" You should be providing valuable great content to your prospects.

Let's say you've captured your prospects information by giving away a free report. Now obviously you don't give away the absolute solution in your report. But you do give away some great content.

Then in your series of emails you go back and forth. A series of valuable information and then the ultimate solution your CB product or whatever you're selling.

And remember if your prospect bought something from you for $27 that doesn't mean it ends there. They are obviously interested in what you have to offer. So, then there's the backend offers of $47,$97 whatever works for you through trial and error.

I do every 2-3 days since the first 7 days are the most important.

There are people who hammer their lists 8 times a day and are millionaires.... hmmm

Daily email should be a norm, I do it twice a day.
I do not mind receiving email from my favorite marketers, I learn from them and they keep me informed. I may not read all of their emails but I browse through quickly to see what's up!
You never know which one of your messages will convince a subscriber to buy, timing is everything. TV ads show up 2, 3, 4 times or more daily, in our face, with no excuse or shame, why shouldn't our emails?
Don't feel bad about sending lots of mails, some will unsubscribe, most won't; that's the nature of the beast!

I agree with this. An example would be that I email my offline/online buyers list of physical products (not IM) 2 - 6 times a month. Just as a nudge to replenish there supply, that I'm still here to help, and other important information. And I get 40 - 50% open rates and 25 - 50% click rates historically.

I too had this question about my IM prospects and buyers list.

Currently I'm emailing my online IM prospects list daily for the first week or 2 and then about 3 - 4 times each week.

I'm sure each list is different. Your customers and prospects will actually tell you when you are sending too often by either not opening the email or unsubscribing from the list.

You may want to just ask your list this question and see what they have to say.

Watch you statistics and adjust accordingly.

      Just my two cents worth.

To email your list based on the frequency that someone else suggests is crazy!

You are not the same marketer, you are probably not in the same niche, you will not have the same things to say, you will not have the same things to sell, and your audience will not be the same.

You should be gearing what and how you email to your niche, your reason for mailing, and the expectations of your audience.

For a very time sensitive niche (like, for instance, sending out stock alerts) you will most likely mail every day - or even more frequently. If you sell cemetery plots, you won't have a reason to mail very often. Those may not be great examples, but the point is, you should mail based on your niche . . . and . . . what you have to say that is of value to your audience.

If you have a ton of great resources to share and your audience will perceive the value, then you can mail more often.

I have a difference of opinion than others about mailing randomly. I think it is much better to set an expectation of mail delivery with your subscribers and then stick to it faithfully! You want them to be looking forward to your next email knowing that it will come at a specific time.

We all have daily routines and habits - use that to your advantage. Train your audience to expect an email from you like they might expect the postman to deliver your mail. You can always add a special additional email once in a while and that will be fine.

When you're just starting out, ask your audience how often they would like to hear from you. The very most important thing, though, is to send out emails that have great value for your audience. You want them to expect special things from you; hence, your open rate will be very high.

        Good luck,

        Steve

I email my list every other day.

My sequence goes out to new subscribers every day for the first 5-6 days.

Many gurus and very successful marketers email EVERYDAY so this tells you that emailing out everyday WORKS for them.

Thanks everyone for all of the thorough advice and insight...As of right now I am going to keep my emails everyday for the first week, and then from the second week on, send emails every other day with mainly valuable content and a sales pitch here and there...I am finally getting used to "testing" and tracking everything, as I realized it is essential in this buisness

          It depends on your niche.

But if you want my advice: email when you have something valuable to impart. If that's every day, go for it!

Another piece of advice: Forget about making money from your list. Generating income from my subscribers is the least important thing to me. In fact, it's hardly even a passing thought. Far more important is concentrating on helping your subscribers. If you do this, you'll make money anyway.

I can't believe who signs up to your lists, guys. I'm annoyed when I get a weekly email from some companies...if anyone emailed me daily, I would unsubscribe right away. Seriously...who signs up for stuff that can be found online in a matter of minutes? Unless you provide a valuable service and information thats hard to get somewhere else, but most don't do that. They just want to spam the list with useless IM offers to make quick cash on clickbank.

Whats hilarious is that most people create lists of people who want to work online and those who send them offers can't make money online other than selling them tutorials on how to make money online. This is so funny.

Everyone here is saying things like: Every 2-3 days
    or...
    every day,
    or...
If you don't mail them someone else will...

So I thought I would say something a bit different speaking from my own habits of how I respond to other people who email me...

Here is what I notice from people who email me:
What is more important then how often you email is how you brand yourself!
I know some marketers that did a lot of work to leave me with a good first impression, right off the bat, they can get away with mailing me once a month, and I would ignore all the other emails and go straight for this guy's because this guy had gave me such a good first impression and since he emailed me less I actually ended up assuming his mails were extra important. Do you get what I'm saying? Also-he only emailed offers no content after his amazing freebie. But I assumed his offers were really good since he seemed to be selective by the fact he wasn't emailing me everyday.

Another thing I've noticed that I respond to is if they really brand themselves, I'm on a guys list who just started making money at the end of 2012 and he mostly emails done for you systems, He is the only marketer I am signed up with on both my email I use to sign up for all the marketers...
    AND...
my personal email, I like to keep clean from having marketers not bug me on...
wait that not true.. I also have the Empower Network guys on that email for some reason. Anyways I figure since he just started making lots of money and offers mostly done for you systems, I will find good products that will make me money faster and I usually always read his stuff even though it's mostly all pitches.

    Anyways...
For me too much does email get annoying.. too little well... I won't forget about you if you had an impact on me, but if you message me to little I won't have as much opportunity to buy from you either.

That's just me though. What do you guys think?

It depends on the niche. I just cleared out a bunch and unsubscribed from my lists online because I got too much stuff. A lot of it wasn't bad stuff, it was just way too overwhelming.
