Which is more effective?

I have developed a method that I would like to capitalize on (just like anyone) but I can't figure out what would be better. A typical one off ebook, or a site that people subscribe to that has the information spread out over lessons in the form of blog posts/videos etc. I of course want to maxmize the effectiveness of sharing my method and feel a sub website might be better but can't really explain why I lean towards that. I'm thinking out loud here, but I guess I could have the site membership and sell the one off version on the site.....hmmm......thoughts? I appreciate any suggestions!

    How about both?
Set up a blog/website and have your readers read your e-book about your method (opt-in box rocks!).

What is your method? That could help in figuring out which could be the most effective way to approach this.

Let me know how it goes for you. I'm not sure I understand the whole post. Give it some thought

It's a list building technique I developed that has many different angles to make money if done properly. It pays you while others build a targeted list for you. Those that are building your list benefit from the front end service offered and keeps them building your list. You can then use that targeted list to capitalize on through traditional internet marketing techniques in addition to being paid BY your list builders. It's a win win

I can put it into an ebook but I feel a membership/signin site/blog may be a little more fun to build, maintain control over, and adapt as the times change.

Obviously I don't want to just spill the beans here and I would imagine everyone would understand that. And no this isn't an "I smell a WSO coming" I truly am looking for guidance on the best road to take. I guess starting with one first then building the other would answer the question fair and square. Kind of an A/B testing of my own.

      Hi,

If you really want to establish an online business I would recommend to build a membership site and invest your efforts in something that will get you a monthly stream of income.

You will need to bring traffic to both products, but the main difference is that when building your community inside a membership site, your members will engage with you and with your content over time (of course it depends on how much you invest in the membership) and they will be more willing to purchase other services and products you offer them in the future.

An eBook is a one-time fee and the engagement will be very low.

No matter what direction you go whether with a membership site or a one off ebook, you need to build you list. And, there's a very good reason this is true. For one, these subscribers are your own personally qualified leads and they are already interested in what you have to say, otherwise they would not have subscribed to your list. Every time you need money, you have to go back to the list. Though it may take time to build a high quality list of responsive subscribers, it's one of the best things you can ever do and will result in more money over time.

As Samuel said, building a list is important no matter which method you choose. And it's already been said as well that you could do both. Just because you sell sell it as an ebook (the term "report" seems to sell better) doesn't mean you can't also package it in the form of a membership as well. Offer videos, coaching, workbooks, etc. and really make it a full training package.

      Make it a great day,

Possibly use the "report" as a freebie to get people to opt in to your list. Then follow up with the membership site for additional quality info.
