There are many out there, but one that is really good is Stealth Login. I also like the plugins that limit login attempts.

The one I recommend is Better WP Security: https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-wp-security/ That plugins walks you through all the steps required to keep your site as secure as possible.

Better WP Security is on all my sites. But be careful not to use it with other security plugins because it will cause problems, as I found out.

I use Wordfence, I think it is far superior to all the others.

I have tried using the .htaccess tweaks from Bulletproof and then removing the plugin, but I think it is overkill. I have seen evidence from Wordfence of the sites getting really hammered by the bad guys, without any breach of security.

  I am also with Wordpress and I have a newly built website. And I have never done any security measures to protect my site from hackers due to my ignorance. I'll try one of those suggested, and thanks guys. Thanks also to the starter of this thread.

I would suggest everyone just buck up and buy atomic security linux. This addition to any centos with or without cpanel can protect you in real time from just about any injection or attack. I have been running it on my websites for over 4 years now and have never had an infiltration.
