SALES UP 20%! - Orange buttons boost online sales

Just read this very interesting business article on CNN:

If you run an e-commerce website, chances are you've been puzzled, at the very least, by the number of visitors who look at what you're selling and then leave. Wouldn't it be great to turn more of those visitors into customers, just by tweaking a few details?

"At SquareSpace, we noticed that the things that make a big difference can seem very small," Atkinson said. "For instance, changing the color of a button on our site increased sales by 20%. We also found that you can double conversions just by moving some key phrases from the left side to the right."

Yes I also read this. There are some great tips in this article. Orange buttons seem to work well and people suggest that it is due to Amazon! We are conditioned with orange buttons from Amazon and we all use Amazon right?
I wonder what colour we liked before Amazon? :-)

Yellow or Red perhaps? I do see green buttons on some sites but orange has a greater sense of urgency to it without tipping over in to the 'red zone'.

Great article yes - thanks CNN!
