How the Freelancer acquisition will affect the Warriors for Hire section? Some proposals.

I wouldn't like to see anything happen to the Warriors for Hire section. Several talented Warriors have built up a big presence in that sub-forum, and to lose all of their feedback, replies, and investment would be a shame.

Hopefully, nothing will happen to that sub-forum at all.

But, if there was something to happen, I think that there should be some way of translating all of the user feedback, reviews, and investment into some kind of status (if WF was ever completely merged with Freelancer.com).

I am planning for the worst here.

I remember when I had built up a ton of iTrader points on Digital Point Forums, and it was all erased when they did a forum upgrade.

There are some challenges to converting the feedback, reviews, and thread views of a Warriors for Hire post, because all of that information is not quantifiable (the reviews are often posted as replies on a thread).

I just wanted to make my point and get it out there to whoever needs to see it that hard-working Warriors in the Warriors for Hire section who make a good percent of their living from that sub-forum, don't see that go away.

    Hi Taylor,

Thanks for this post and your feedback. I take your point and would want to make sure that with any changes we take into account reputation and all the effort the warriors in that section have built up.

Thanks, but I just hope that the things that are not easily quantifiable are somehow carried over (such as the number of views, replies, user reviews posted as replies, etc.) and not just things that are already tabulated but not related to specific in the Warriors for Hire sub-form (membership length, number of posts, number of thanks). Some threads in the Warriors for Hire section are very active and are connected to an offer. Losing all of that visibility and status would be a blow to many threads.

I always find it amusing to watch people scramble, in the wake of change, to secure some assurance that the change will personally benefit them.
