What is the best automated text to blog poster?

I have a need to load 100's of PLR articles to a blog into specific categories. As an example, I have seen many tools available by Warriors that take a directory full of txt files and post them to a blog.

Which one is the best in your opinion?

If one exists that 1) automatically adds categories, 2) adds tags, 3) adds titles and can post at a predetermined rate (e.g. 5 per day), that would be great.

Hmmmm, seemed like a simple request when I wrote it.

Anyone have experience with one of this tools? I know they exist.

I think they do exist, because, as you say, it doesn't sound complicated. have you tried searching google?

      Jon,

There are a few offered on this forum in the WSO section from time to time. I just wanted to do business with a fellow Warrior and was looking for a tried and tested solution that met my needs.

      Thanks,

I actually use Caffeinated Content to do this. At first sight CC posts Yahoo Answers and articles from one of the article directories but it also posts PLR articles very well.

Your posting keyword is taken from the title of the text file which is then loaded up to a specific directory under the plugin eg: keyword1.txt, keyword2.txt etc....

You then specify your article posting title in the first line and the category in the second line, you can also specify author if you wish.

You can specify a posting date either back in time or into the future and CC spreads out the post between these dates. It also generates tags...

CC is not that cheap but if you want a plugin that posts Yahoo answers, articles from a leading article directory, videos and PLR articles then it's worth checking out.

Also, I didn't realise CC did this until just recently so those that have it already and didn't realise it could post PLR go look again...

          123andyt,

Thanks. I've looked at CC before. Didn't know it did PLR from your hard drive.

How does it "generate" tags? Can I specify the tags for each article or does is interrogate the text and deduce the tags you want?

Not sure actually how it generates the tags but you can specify how many you want. Here is the text from the control panel
How many tags do you want? If left at 0, automatic tagging will be turned off, otherwise Caffeinated Content will try to pick the top tags from the returned tag pool.

The thing I like about CC is you can post articles to different categories in any one run by using a category statement at the top of the article. It does require a bit of manipulation of each article though.

And you don't post from your hard drive. You load up the articles to a directory on your server and post them from there ....

            Hope this helps

Mark, GuruGazette (Kathy) has a nice plugin called ZipPoster that does most of what you want. I've been using it for awhile and like it a lot. She is having a 60% WSO on it right now. I'm not sure if it's okay to link to a WSO from this forum, but if you use the search function for ZipPoster, you'll find it.

        Jon,

If there was a free CC offer, I'd have been all over that! lol

        Linda,

Kathy's plugin looks great, but doesn't seem to handle tags either. Maybe I'm hoping for too much, but going back to dozens or hundreds of posts one at a time through the WP admin interface and adding tags is no fun and takes way too much time.

Mark, on the sites that I'm using ZipPoster, I also use the Simple Tags plugin. It has an auto tags feature that will allow you to preset a list of tags as long as you want. Then when a post is made, it will tag it with any of the keywords it finds in the post. Yes, this is a little more work than having something automatically figure out what tags to use for a post, but personally I think it would be difficult to build such a plugin. When you think about it, how is a piece of software going to figure out which phrases out of the many in a specific post are worthy of a tag? It's really better to have keyword tags set up to start with.

Hey Linda thanks for the plug

On Tags: We created the auto tagging feature as an add on component instead of including it as a built in feature of ZipPoster, because it's more complicated than it seems. Check my GuruGazette site and you'll find it, it's called "PostTagger"
