Link Exchanges - Which ones are viewed as good by google?

I know link farms could get your site banned from google.

I have been using www.linktradeexchange.com

and they seem like a genuine place to improve your backlinks and PR

Has anyone tried this before or any other link exchanges?

I want to make sure my site Free Traffic Tips doesn't get banned after all my work on getting backlinks to it.

I have 2 backlinks from google and 130 or so from yahoo after 1 month.

    Google does not penalize for link exchanges, it just does not give them as much importance as one way.

    Beside, link exchanges are my one hedge against the Google monopoly -

    Its called referral traffic - and it is my favorite kind because I am not at G's mercy for it.
