Website value estimates?

Hello fellow warriors! I've been thinking how well you can trust sites like allwebsitestats when they give you the value of a website. What do you guys think? What is it based on?

Also is there some kind of formula to calculate an approximate value for a keyword rich domain? I mean if for example people search for "tomato ketchup" 100k times a month, is there a way to know the value of tomatoketchup.com domain?

    It is worthless.

I went to the site and checked 2 sites that I own.

One was evaluated with $198 and another with $69.

Both sites (domains) are worth way more.

    How do I know?

I did receive offers last month for both. $1,250 and $1,000. I did not accept either offer as I think the domains are worth way more.

The one that was evaluated at $69 is worth about $3,500.

So, those automated tools are just a gimmick.

Automated tools do not provide accurate estimates. The only real accurate estimate of a domain value is what amount someone is willing to pay you for it. If you can't find the buyer who really wants that domain, it's not worth much if anything. The trick is to go out and find that buyer. You can use Google and search for the keywords and see who's using Adwords to advertise for those keywords and who's trying to climb their way to the first page for those keywords and that should give you a good start on the "who" might be interested in the domain.
