Looking for an html5 option to using Simple Video Pro.

Looking for an html5 option to using Simple Video Pro.

I saw: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...-obsolete.html

Which is the product at: Video Marketing using Simple Video Pro

But this product seems to use Flash to display the videos on websites.

I want to NOT use Flash to display my .mp4 videos.

I'm trying to find out ...

1. Can I still use Simple Video Pro (without FLASH)?
2. If not, is there another product that would be recommended for me to use, that would simply use HTML5 methods?

Any advice? I'm also looking for options, comparisons and opinions for Simple Video Pro. (I recently purchased Simple Video Pro and trying to decide if there's a better - similar tool to be used, that wouldn't involve FLASH.)

GoGVO.com has an easy video service, which is a video server to store your videos and get an imbed code to put the videos on your website.

This way you do not use the bandwidth on your server to show the videos. You can make them public or you can keep them private, which will only allow people you want to see the videos to view them.

I think it is only $7.95 per month to upload unlimited videos.

All my videos are for membership sites so I keep them private.

I have also have and used Easy Video Player until I found out that the video service was available at GVO.

    Best regards,

    Steve,

Thanks for your information. Currently I use Vimeo for my video hosting, so I don't need a place for that part of things. And, I'm not looking for software to help me "record" my videos, as Easy Video Player does. I'm actually looking for something that has similar functionality to Simple Video Pro, but without the FLASH requirement. I also found Covert Player, which is nice, but considerably different from Simple Video Pro.

Do you know of anything 'more' similar to Simple Video Pro?

    Thanks,
    Gary

      Hey gary,

GVO's service is not for just creating videos. I have never created a video with their service. MP4 videos can be uploaded and used with their embed code. If you already have a video service, don't they supply a way for your viewers to see your videos on your websites?

I missing what you want to do that Simple video Pro will allow you to do as I'm not familiar with that software. Please elaborate so I can be of better help.

      Best regards,
      Steve

    Hey Gary,

From what I remember, Simple Video Pro does NOT require flash to function (unless something as changed.) It does use flash if it's available, but then falls back to HTML5, if not.

Of course, there are some functions of it that require flash, but not the core. (Again, if I remember right.)

    Good luck!

      Mike,

Well, if you look at this page Water Restoration, Fire Restoration and Mold Remediation : Carpet Sales and Installation by Carpet Surgeon .. if I disable FLASH, then I lose all the special functionality of Simple Video Pro (SVP). The video will default to use the HTML5 player, but any of the other special items that I set up in SVP are not there when Flash is not available.

Does that make sense to you? I guess I was hoping that SVP would be written and developed so that it would work, .. without requiring Flash, so I could be insured (basically) that it would always work - regardless of the need for Flash to be available in the browser where the video is playing.

Any other thoughts? Do I have any other options .. also meaning ... any other software that could do what I'm searching for?

Hi - just a note: Simple Video Pro does in fact use Flash - the main reason is that if you have SSL, videos will play on Facebook and all the clickable banners, logos, etc. will play on Facebook - because it embeds those items using Flash. Another reason we use Flash is that it works across all modern browsers and there is no need to convert the .mp4 to .webm format for FireFox (which is used by a significant percentage of people online).

HTML5 is the fall-back - and you are correct: a small percentage of features do not yet work with HTML5. However, to make such features function properly on mobile, we have been updating SVP functions to work with HTML5... the first and most important feature of SVP, the multiple timed banners, is now 100% HTML5 and mobile compatible.

We are adding the others with each update.

I hope this helps you in finding the right player for your business.

      Steve,

I see what GVO does, and it's just very basic.

Simple Video Pro (actually has too long a list of features for me to attempt to list out). But basically, it allows you to do things (from your website like ..)

      1. Manage videos that you want to display on external website, from the one central location (where you can turn them on or off, etc.).
      2. Determine (with videos that are appearing on client sites) .. when and how the videos should start up and begin playing. Lots of options.
      3. Add buy now buttons (over the videos) and link the buttons to specific URLs.
      and more.

But if Flash isn't enabled, most all features don't work (such as the auto starting of the videos at specific times, etc.), the buy now buttons or links.

I'm trying to find if there's a similar option available, that would require FLASH to be involved in order for things to work.

    Nick,

    Thanks for your clarification.

    2 Questions (at the moment).

    1. Do you think you might consider, in the near future, to move away from using Flash or so you feel the benefits outweight the loss of functionality?

    2. When I place videos on a website using SVP and view the website in Internet Explorer 11, the videos don't show up and aren't able to play .. and the skins are very large and not sized properly. Can you tell me when this might be corrected since I can't use it until I figure out a work round or until you fix it. This is VERY important.
