hi there...
id like to start a local job posting/listing website... something like monster.com
can anyone recommend a wordpress template or any other system which would let me do this..

You could get a plugin like WP Job Manager. If you wish to charge for listings, you can extend it with a premium extension called Simple Paid Listings. I've tried it and it works pretty well, allowing you to categorize job listings and all.

I was looking to build something similar
but not exactly the same.
the wpjobmanager looks good.

what if I just want to build a directory of tennis coaches
where they could put in their description
and I could have different options for paid and free listings.
Is that possible?
