I don't know of a wordpress plugin that will do that, but I know that leadpages has a template for something similar. It's super easy to customize too.

This is precisely what I want but I'm not interested in using leadpages. I have a ton of paid plugin that can create landing pages as good as leadpages. Surely there must be another way because I've seen it on pages that aren't from leadpages.

Go into the process with your eyes wide open. The more steps you have, the greater opportunity for leakage and abandonment.

Make the signup as simple and easy as you can. You will have the opportunity to contact and nurture your subscribers in subsequent followup.

Right now, just be concerned with getting permission to contact the subscriber. That's all I would ask for at the start.

Any chance you can share that template with my leadpages account? They changed the old 3 step squeeze page template to a 2 step with a popup... pretty ridiculous if you ask me lol, but they said you can try sharing it to my account and it might work.

Let me know if you're willing to do that for me! I'll PM you my account email or whatever you need to share a template with me.

Btw, for anyone wondering why we would wanna do this is because it's been shown in tests to convert more visitors into subscribers. I highly recommend 108 Proven Split Test Winners by dotcomsecrets.com (if you haven't read it already)... They show some pretty awesome test results, including with these types of pages.

Many top marketers claim that this optin converts better. Breaking one big step into smaller steps. I'm not quite sure but I think Daegan Smith came up with this theory. I would like to test it and see if the results are better than the normal optin setup.

As for what Steps I want included, well pretty the same as in the image.
Step 1 - Where did you hear from us
Step 2 - Name & Email etc
Step 3 - Get access

I've seen this on landing pages from marketers like Russell Brunson, Matt Lloyd and a bunch of other 7 & 8 figure marketers.

Anyways, I appreciate the feedback, thanks!

Top marketers.....

Look in the mirror and make common sense decisions for yourself. The normal optin setup will make you 7 & 8 figures also.

Come into your "ownself", and look at YOURSELF as the guru. Think for yourself, and test for yourself 1st - so that you can learn how to have confidence in what you're doing.

Not if you have a targeted audience and offering something that they want and would certainly help them. I do understand what you are saying. Today many marketers drive cold traffic and hope for the best and in this case a standard form would be best. But when you have a targeted audience where some might be a bit sceptical, breaking that big decision for them into smaller ones would be ideal for you as it would help push them over the finish line so to say. It makes sense. Nevertheless, thanks for your feedback.

Sorry but I totally missed that it is a three step sign-up form.

If you are going to try it, put email in step 1. Then if people don't complete it, you can follow-up with them.

As to a plugin, I don't off the top of my head.

Get you ahead???? Well, it can certainly help - but you have to understand the results of that testing in order to actually reap any benefit from them.

There is targeted traffic... and then there is "targeted" traffic.

Targeted traffic can also be cold traffic (in fact it most often is). And you've already acknowledged that this type of opt-in form isn't good for cold traffic.

The only "targeted" traffic that isn't also "cold" traffic, is traffic from your own readers, or those of your affiliates - and then only if those affiliates have a very responsive list and enjoy an almost disciple-like following from their readers.

Understanding that this is NOT optimum for cold traffic is good. Just make sure you also contemplate your definition of "targeted" before wasting too much time/effort.
