Where did the "thanks" button go?

i don't see a "thanks" button anymore under the posts

all i can see under a post on my computer are "quote" "multiquote" and "quick reply" buttons

but no "thanks" button

what am i missing

    right now i have "edit" "quote" multi quote" and "quick reply"

    but no "thanks"

      If you have already thanked the post you are looking at, the Thanks button disappears. And maybe you can't see it on your own posts.

      Is that what happened?

        Yes it is right if you have thanked already anyone's post then thanks button will disappear and you can not see it. But it is still working for me and i can see this button under your post and if i like i can give thanks to your post.

      It doesn't make a lot of sense for you to "Thank" your own post.

      Since you are seeing an "edit" option, it must be your own post you are looking at. Look at the posts/replies from others to see the "thanks" button

      The limit (unless it's very recently been changed) is 20 in any 24-hour period.

      It works on a "rolling basis", though: you have to wait only until the most distant of your 20 most recent "thanks" given was more than 24 hours ago, if you see what I mean. And then the "thanks" button will re-appear for one or two more, and so on.

      Bill Platt and I have both been campaigning (not entirely jokingly!) for years for the number available in a 24-hour period to be increased from 20 to whatever (30? 40?). Unsuccessfully so far. It's not quite the most significant issue in our lives, I'm sure ...

      Your attribution of causation leaves a little to be desired, there. It works in my Google Chrome, Kimberly: I just tested it by thanking your post, above (even though your post turned out not quite to be accurate). You have to have made 5+ posts of your own to be able to "thank" other posts.

    As an added thought, I'd like to have a Like button for posts -- it's one thing to thank someone for their insight, and another to say "Hey, I like your perspective/product/advice/etc."

      20 thanks a day limit....I guess this proves that discussion forum marketing can get to be a thankless job daily after a while.

      That really does not affect most of us, but I could see where Alexa Smith might not like that. Her Post Stats: 23,722 Thanks: 15,345 are off the chart.

      I will bring this up with the powers that be. Does anyone else here wish to see the "thank you" limit raised?

      I always thought that when you say "thank you", you're also telling that person that you like their post. I would think it would be redundant.

      Maybe a "I agree" and a "I respectfully disagree" and a "you suck" buttons should be created? (Half-kidding).

        I don't think the limit is the problem right now. I've seen the thanks button totally gone and then appear and then be gone again....without ever using it.

        It's like the search function now - working, but not always.

    Yeah I noticed lots of upgrades to the website, so some functionality
    might temporarily be gone for a lil bit, but pretty much everything should be working.

    Haven`t noticed the thanks button gone missing yet tho
