Just saying "thank you" - First eBook up and selling!

Just wanted to say "thank you" to everyone around here. There is such a wealth of knowledge on this board, and it gave me the motivation to get my first eBook done. I ended up writing a 32 page ebook on technical matter that I deal with everyday. I put it on eBay at $19.99, and I'm selling one a day right now. I have a huge list of people that could benefit from my new little eBook, so I'll be ramping up the marketing over the next couple weeks while I start working on my 2nd eBook.

      Working on this slowly but surely... Almost all products I sell are in the same niche, so I have a couple years worth of email addresses. I'm still working my regular job so I'm trying to step into this slowly.

Do they allow for digital downloads of your ebook (such as where the customer gets a link to the ebook after sale) or do you put the ebook on a disk to mail to the customer?       I'm a platinum power seller and top rated status so my situation is a bit unique. The way you are supposed to sell digital stuff on eBay is as a classified ad. Anything else appears to be against the rules. Since classified ads have horrible results, I'm selling mine as a both a pdf emailed to them and I mail a printout to them as well. My target audience isn't computer savvy, and they tend to like papers. I also have to do this so that each transaction has a tracking number on it or else eBay will ding me and hurt my status with them. I just manually send an email to the buyer with the pdf attached.

      I'm guessing 99% of the people here won't even understand what it is for, but there it is. I'm actually going to do a couple more things with it:

      1) Throw it in for free when someone buys one of my more expensive items
      2) Print some copies at a print shop and sell them to some local truck dealers so they can re-sell it (my target market)
      3) Ask for some reviews from previous customers so I can add it to the listing

      I can honestly say that I would have never thought of this idea without this forum, so it has spurred a lot more ideas I have. We will see where it goes, as this is actually a really small part of what I do.

    Congratulations on your success, I wish you the best. Just try and ramp up the marketing efforts and reach more people. You could potentially make a WSO with it or even create it into a Clickbank product to sell. This can help a lot since you'll reach hundreds and thousands of affiliates promoting your product.

      I've saved a spreadsheet of every paypal transaction I've done over the last 3 years, which includes email addresses... so since 95% of what I sell on eBay is in my niche, I literally have thousands this way.

      I also just paid someone from odesk to manually scape some sites that aggregate truck dealerships, repair shops, etc... so I got large pool of potential customers there as well.

      I wish I would have been more on it when I started, performed weekly/month emails, started my own website sooner, etc... Ah well, learn and live on!

      I have four Ebooks on kindle and none of them are making money..very few dollars. The Ebooks are more than 40 pages each with four interesting niches:
      1) Free prescription discount Card ( I am the first to write a marketing guide Ebook for this business)- I have few websites for this niche

      2) a minimalism niche book. In fact I have a website for this specific niche

      3) a survivalism preparation guide book - I have a website for this niche

      And last but not least,

      4) use of cannabis for medicine: have a website for this niche too.

      So you must be lucky to sell your Ebook on eBay, but mine sits idle on kindle.
