I was unemployed when I started, I was lucky enough to make almost $3,000 my first month online. DOn't listen to the people who think you are crazy.

To me the real idiots are the people who work at a job, to hope to retire on less money that wasn't enough before and a bank account with some money that did nothing buy lose purchasing power because of inflation

"Idiots" is strong word. I'm not the pc police, but people that hope for things and try to achieve them, but aren't aware of any better way to achieve what they want are likely to be suffering more from ignorance than from idiocy.

Well i'm one of those "idiots" who still has a real job. I must remember to remind my wife and kids what an idiot i am when i pay for: the mortgage, car payments, insurance, health care, toys, groceries, gas, child care, vacations, phone bills, gifts, electricity, water etc. etc.
Mostly paid for from money made at my job.....

Well I have no kids, no wife, no mortgage... While I was working I couldn't get enough focus, I was always tired and dissapointed. So I put few bucks together to have this opportunity to do something with my life now and in the upcoming months. I don't regret so far.

congrats for your determination. Many warriors are successful here and some are still struggling. You should ask any question over here and warriors are hopefully help you.
If you need more motivation you can do it.

Last month I started investing not only my time but also money. Well it is not real estate yet... but PTC platforms. They look like a good place to start. I also started to promote other people content over the internet, as an affiliate. No results so far. But I am not getting discouraged. I am learning every day, reading tons of stuff and yesterday I found this site. Simply by checking Alexa global top 500 sites for resources. My first impression is that many successful online earners are here. I will keep reading this forum, that is for sure.

What I would like to ask is, if there is someone who quit his job and is relying on the internet earnings, maybe he can become my mentor. Just one email daily would be a lot for me. To guide me a bit and show the direction. PM me if you don't mind. Or drop a tip in here maybe, keeping in mind my goal. If no it is cool also, I hope we will all get where we want one day...

Thats very brave of you to quit your job and follow your dreams like that. Never listen to people whom call you crazy...they are truly the crazy ones the ones that don't believe they can achieve online marketung

Congratulations on taking the leap!

I've been reading some of Joseph Campbell lately, the great mythologist that examined all the great stories throughout history and noted how they all follow the same basic pattern. It starts with the hero feeling a calling, but feeling a bit reluctant, until something happens to initiate the journey, at which point everyone think's he's crazy.

Another element is that every great hero has a mentor of some sort helping along the way, so good for you to notice that need.

Whatever you do, make sure you stick to things that:

1-Deliver real discernible value to others.
2-You are good at (or at least naturally inclined towards). Don't try to make money doing what you see working for others. Everyone is naturally inclined to succeed at different things.
3-You enjoy doing. Not that there won't be some aspects of it you won't enjoy at times, but overall you do need to enjoy what you're doing so as to continually give it your all, which is essential to delivering that real discernible value to others.

Hello Olfik,

I did the EXACT same thing you did. It's been a year and a half since then and I'm making almost 3 times what I was getting when I was employed.

Like you, I had a bit of knowledge in making websites,etc.

I initially started trying to buy and sell things on ebay, starting little website blogs, etc but eventually realized that without a marketing plan or marketing budget, it is very difficult to get visitors to your product/service and for you to grow your business. That is when I decided to focus completely on Internet Marketing or Affiliate Marketing. I would suggest the same for you. Make sure you have about 5k and just start to learn how to generate an income using paid marketing. (FaceBook, Google PPV, etc).

Once you can utilize these websites to bring in the type of people that will 'convert' into buyers for you, you can be more confident going ahead with your own business. Not to mention how lucrative it can be sometimes if you do it right.

This year I've already made 6 figures in profit. It's been tough and a long road, 12 hours a day for many months before I saw some success but you'll get there if you're persistent.

Yes, a lot of people have quit there outside job to rely on internet money making. But the big key is to always remember that these things aren't that easy. You have to know whats best for you and whats not best for you.

What you should do to virtually guarantee your success as an internet marketer is begin building a list. The only way you can fail when building a list is by not making any effort whatsoever to make money online. All you need to do is build a list and send traffic to it. You can send traffic with sites like Craigslist, Facebook, Twitter. Paid advertising is also very effective.

olfik, I wouldn't advise anyone to first quit their job and then try to make money online.

Sounds like you may have set some money aside though to last you for 6 months while you give it a try. That's not as bad, but my advice would still be to hold down a job until you are more than replacing the job income with your online efforts.

My advice is not to stick with what does not seem to be working for you for too long and always be open to trying something else.

I tried for a good 5 years to build up an affiliate income business. Never did make much at it. Finally, I pretty much gave up on it about 6 months ago and started working on selling products online.

In a short time, I am already making more at that than I ever did on affiliate income. Just wish I had switched over earlier now as I could be making a heck of a lot more at it if I had put as much into this if as I had into affiliate marketing.

Of course, that it just me. Everyone has to find their own path. Just dont stay on the same one for too long if it does not seem to be working for you.

Hey,

Brave is the word, however I also see it as confidence to making this work. Your goals of making $15 is realistic however I reckon you could probably double that and aim $30. Most of my students that I take on is expected to hit that and around 95% achieve.

It's all about having the right mindset, and prioritising what's important to you. I give my students clear objectives and targets. There are what you call SMART targets. I'm assuming you know what smart stands for. I also believe in providing more value by giving you more resources such as where to get right tools for the right job.

For you to succeed which I believe you will, is having a plan and taking action with it. You can read all the books you want but you could fall into the trap of information overload. That's one thing I don't want to happen to you.

I'm here if you need me but rest assure your in the right place.

You can start making $15 a day in less time than 6 months. If you need more money to fund any ventures you want to start sell wholesale goods on eBay, that is an easy extra income stream of 300-1000 bucks a month.

$15 a day? That's nothing. Well I worked the most horrible jobs in New York City before deciding to call it quits. I drove trucks, cleaned up piles of garbage, delivered truck tires, washed dishes, worked in offices with politics and back stabbing, etc. Better off on your own if you don't fit into the "Yes Man" mold

How are you going about writing your ebook? Im assuming you done youe research thats including how you plan to release it. Is it through selling through clickbank? if you haven't and depending out the subject, I think doing as a kindle ebook could potentially profitable, that because your working with a reputable brand. The other advantage is you have wider audience.

However

If your going to use it to build your list then I suggest building a 3 page web site. Also if you go down this route then you need to explore the options for traffic both free and paid.

Personally I would go down the route of blogging because you could throw in some affiliate links and plus promote your ebook. All you need to do is stay consistent, make sure your content is original but also engaging.

If you follow this then you may be on to something providing its a niche that has decent amount of monthly hits and has low competition. Im sure you have checked this out.

Its a great theory that if you burn your bridges (in this case give up your job) it makes you more motivated to fight and achieve.

Burning your bridges is often associated with Cortés when he conquered Mexico in the 16th centuary. To prevent his soldiers going back to Cuba, he ordered his boats be destroyed, not burnt. He had the boats disassembled as wood and materials were pretty scarce, it would make no sense to just burn them. Cortés later used the materials to build new boats during the siege of Tenochtitlan.

Back to Internet Marketing, it is a business that requires time and effort to build something. Quiting your job can get you there quicker, if you treat like a business and put the hours in on the right task. Start by finding a problem to solve or a demand that you can satisfy and goodluck.
