There is a huge need but I just don't see it anywhere

So an affiliate marketer put out a video on how to convert sales letters into videos (he calls it video skinning) and they convert much better.

I would certainly pay someone in a second if I could find someone to do it but don't see anyone offering this service ? I could learn how to do this myself, but there is a learning curve to anything and it would take some time and it probably wouldnt turn out as well as someone who has done a ton of these things. So outsourcing it to a person with skills really appeals to me and I think it does for others as well. I think if someone who is good at this could knock these things out rather quickly and make a killing.

When you start with such a false premise, it makes it hard to take the rest of your post seriously.

Oh no.. This was not to spark controversy and start a debate of IF the sales letter is dead.

All I meant was why isnt someone offering to convert sales letters into videos.

Thats it, nothing else. Forget everything else I said.

I still recommend you the above-mentioned report. You'll learn a thing
or two about the use of video in marketing.

I get it, Curtis. Funny! (OT, but I didn't want your aside to go completely unnoticed.)

I've noticed that the gurus, like Mike Filsaime, Rich Scheffren and others are keeping their long sales copy but are in fact "adding" the videos for the ones who don't like to read.

They also are offering links by these videos that bypass the rest of the sales letter all together meaning that they are having success with both buttons near the videos and at the bottom of the sales pages.

While video is more entertaining and can capture emotions, properly written sales letters can and will still have it's place among websites for years to come.

Video also solves the major problem of learning sales copy as it is so easy to just shoot a quick video and then link to it from your blog or ezine article or even from here.

But don't rule out sales copy as the gurus are proof that it still works cause if it didn't they would get rid of it all together.

    That's a good question, I think - and a good idea.

I've converted press releases to video, but the idea of converting sales letters completely went right by me. Which is odd because I've offered the service to create video sales letters from scratch for a while now.

Too busy in the rest of my business, I guess.

Salesletter combined with video is what's turning into a new trend when presenting a sale.

BTW, I would also be interested in outsourcing Video Skinning, if any warrior offers such service.

This would be a great way to 'reduce sales letter clutter' of sorts. I do motion graphic videos for warriors that could relay much of the information found in these lengthy letters. That's quite interesting...

My post assumes you have seen the easy sales formula skinning video, so google it if you dont know what it is. I dont want to post it because I dont want people to think the post is about promoting it because I am not. He is using it for a completely different reason but nevertheless it is about converting sales letters into videos. But since there is some confusion on what this approach is then you will need to go see what he is doing. I only mention his stuff because the approach he uses converts well. He has incorporated alot of good psychology and other elements to get people interested in buying.

      oortcloud,

I watched that video. It was a 50 minute video that could have been 20 minutes max!

The tools I'm aware of only take the text off the sales page and put them on slides for videos and then allow narration or music backgrounds. They won't do the rest of what he preaches.

A service like that would be very nice and a time-saver for sure. I agree that conversions would be much improved. But it wouldn't be cheap, as those videos would take a couple hours or more to do the right way (narrate/script them professionally, eliminate typos, gather graphics, etc.), which he doesn't do.

It would take time, however you will sales copy as well.

I have read through all this and it is hard to follow this conversation if you dont know what Video Skinning and the video is. This is not a promotion, however just to make it easier for people to follow here on what this very insightful conversation is about - Keith Wellman Easy Sales Formula Easy Sales Formula
(if MOD feel that this should be links, please remove this paragraph).

I am right now making video and testing to see if this actually works. I have not done sales copy successfully, so I am moving straight to this. Lets hope it works

It is basically narrating the sales letter but with some Frank Kern style crowd control NLP super ninja mind tricks thrown in. A very powerful combination. The first thing he says to do is start with a pattern interrupt, classic Krank Fern.

There's no difference in some cases of video marketing versus sales copy.

It's all direct marketing and positioning really.

It's just plain smarter than a static 1 pager with a buy button like amazon.

Suck money out of people's wallets like a vaccum on drugs style
    marketing.
