Web Development: What Should I Need to Learn?

I am now trying to learn web development so that I can freelance it. I am learning it from W3Schools Online Web Tutorials. Am I doing right? What are some best sources to learn web development?
Also From what Should I start to learn web development? I am talking about the course outline. I am now learning HTML.
Please share your experiences and ideas guys. Thanks in advance.

    Hey,

    I would suggest that you check out the training over at WealthyAffiliate. If you want to learn in depth on how to properly build websites, then this would be a great place to start. I have gone through the training and it is very thorough and up to date. There is also training on SEO there too, which will go hand in hand with your web development learning process.

    W3Schools Online Web Tutorials is a great website, but as far as learning web development for selling products online... in my opinion it isn't necessary. It's a 5-step process really:

    1) Get leads

    2) Email market to them

    3) Lead them to sales page

    4) Make sales

    5) Put them in backend marketing funnel

    That's it.

      I would definitely look into learning WordPress for developing websites, the reason that WP is becoming so popular is that it is easy for the client to maintain and update....finally a bridged gap!
      If you want to make a lot of money then also learn CSS and php and start developing your own WP themes. Some of the top authors selling in the Envato marketplace are making on average $20K a month.

    Right now, i am using w3school.com to learn. it is a good website but i want to learn much more. like scroll down navigation menu bar and and how to add gadgets etc.
