How I taught Google what Solo Ads are
Fair enough.
Except I'm not.
I'm selling solo ads. And yes, it guarantees N number of clicks as all solo ads do. But they're real people.
So I start a chat with an "adwords specialist".
The specialist reviews my site for about 15 minutes, seeking the assistance of a Specialist.
They come back to me and say the "solo ad" part looks ok, but my site IS offering clicks for dollars and can I explain?
So I explain to them what a solo ad actually is. It's basically an advertiser who is paying cost per click (a model Google knows well) instead of cost per impression, but paying up front for a certain number. I suggest they also google Solo Ad and see many paid ads for that.
They confer for another 10 minutes. And then come back to me saying no, it is a violation of their policy. You cannot guarantee clicks.
Can't argue with the big G. I guess I can change my site to say 0.50c per click instead of $50 for 100 clicks. Oh the irony.
The double whammy is that the email says your adwords account can be suspended completely and that deleting the campaign or ads is not enough. Yet the "specialist" couldn't tell me what else I can do besides deleting the campaign. So basically per Googles email, they can still go ahead and suspend my account even though I'm not longer advertising that site (which wasn't spam in the first place).
*sigh* Yet another reason not to rely on Google for any IM business.
