What type of site, traffic sources are best with Commission Junction Banners?

I was wondering what works best for a site monetizing using Commission Junction, Linkshare, etc. Also how would you drive traffic to it?

    That's your problem...you're guessing.

    OP, paid advertising works well for me with CJ offers. Apart from that, it's the same as most promotions go: build your list and weave in promos with your newsletter.

      Thanks for your help. Doesn't that mean you have to have a squeeze page for every CJ offer you sell? I was looking to have banner ads on my site.

    I ran banner ads from CJ years ago and the results were dismal. Most people didn't click unless you buried them into the content so that you interrupted the flow.

    The traffic came from social media and organic search, for targeted keywords.

    Using call to actions inside your posts, with text links is a lot more effective. I'm talking .05% CTR on banners compared to 5% or higher CTR on text links.

    I tested a bunch of different arrangements and CTA text links always won. I never managed to hit the eCPM or eRPM, whatever CJ uses now, that they said other people were getting using the banners.
