Do you host your own basecamp?

Greetings!

I am aware that there are many basecamp platforms out there like podio.com, but do you think it's nice to host our own basecamp. Where we can upload files, give some comments.

Is there a platform for this? or a plugin ?

Please share your thoughts on this.
