Direct promotion or link to blog posts with call 2 action?

Hey,

I have a question if you have a blog promoting one product through an affiliate link and you also have a big list you use on email marketing whats the best options?

  1. Use the email marketing to direct users to blog posts with the hope they click through to the affiliate site
  2. Send the link directly to the affiliate site with your cloacked wordpress link on each email blast?

Has anyone had experience with this? what is the best option for conversions as i am new to this.

It depends. If you are doing the pre selling in the email then you can send them direct to the affiliate offer. If you are just sending them a short mail and want to do the pre selling on the blog page you can do so too.

The main part is however, you need to pre sell them. Use the email to generate curiosity and then explain further on the blog and do your main presell there.

Direct links convert more. As a rule of thumb,

'The higher the number of clicks it takes to reach your affiliate page, the lower your conversion rate'

      This is from your experience?

Based on this for email marketing conversions, yes you put some text then the link to the affiliate sale.

Do you think it is good to put in some links to articles to the website to gain reader cred or would that disctract from the conversion click?

I usually send people right from the email to the offer so more people wil see the offer, but sometimes sending to a blog can help...

So here is what you do

    You do both

Do both and see which one drives the most sales

It is better to direct your email list to your blog post explaining the product you want them to buy and then your blog should have a call to action sending them to your affiliate offer. I find that
you get better conversions that way.
