Pessimists Live Longer?
Pessimism About the Future May Lead to Longer, Healthier Life, Research Finds
My opinion is that if you expect worse things to come, you are more motivated to plan ahead and prepare yourself. But I still think "expect the best, but prepare for the worst" is a better option.
