Also, those who have found what you are passionate about, if you could share how this certain passion came to spark your interest and focus that would be awesome.

I found it out when I started reading books. Although I was inspired by some guy on the Internet who was writing a little bit about personal development and he was telling that the education and reading books is really important for the success. Then I chose some books(self-help) from his list. The first book, that influenced me, was Start with Why. After reading it and watching some Sinek's speeches, I knew that leadership is my passion. Also, personal development is my passion and why? I just stumbled on the Brendon Burchard's work and I find myself that I also love personal development.

It is only about what inspired you and what you LOVE.

One more tip about how to find out if you are passionate about - when you are in the so-called state "flow". It means when time is passing really quickly and you are doing that activity without pauses or forcing yourself.

Hope you will find your passion.

forget looking for any exact thing to be passionate about ..because you can end up down a dry hole ..turning what you think you are passionate about into a business that sucks all the joy out of it ..

here is the system i have come up with and ..this is the first time i have really tried to explain it so it may end up a garbled mess of words..

think about everything you do ..from when you work..to when you study.. how you play games ..what games you play ..

what is your style of doing anything that ..gets you into doing it and makes you give a crap about doing it well .

even if you work at a job you do not like ..there are things you do in that job that you may really enjot doing them and give you reason to stay in that job .

pick apart the different activities you do and form a list of aspects of what made you enjoy ..or motivated you to keep doing them ..

then there is the list of things you really do not like doing ..

then take the first list and the second list and find something with as many of the things that motivate you about doing anything..and as few of the things that you do not really like ..

you do not initially have to be passionate about the thing ..but if you can plug as many of the activities that create passion into a thing ..you will develop passion for it .

    edit
a cavet ..there are people out there who do not get motivated by the same things you do and get motived by thing that demotivate you ..partner with these people and split the work according to who does what best .

Don't focus on searching for your passion. The key is to take action on things that you like doing and that will bring you money.

    The steps I use:
    - Search for something that you love doing
    - Make sure that it is a good niche (desperate buyers, competition etc)
    - Take massive action even if you don't feel like it (the bold part is the key to success)
    - After sometime, you will start to get good at it and will want to take more action
    - Then you take more action and get good and take more action again.. It's a loop
    - Up to the point where this "something that you love doing" becomes your passion.

Then you're basically earning a living from your passion.

    Cheers,

I like the transition from just following what you like to identify both niche and passion at the same time.

Great way to develop habits that will support both.

You should first of all expand horizons of awareness. Amazingly many people live in ignorance about what the world has to offer. This is the first step.

The second is easier: what would you do without pay or even pay for? That's likely something you like without physical conditionality (there also remains cultural, but that's different topic).

A passion is something that somehow drives us effortlessly when doing it. Something you spend more time, energy and put more efforts on to than anything else. Simply because you feel more "alive", happier or fulfilled then. In some cases, time, distance, efforts and/or money might even become irrelevant. Forums (like this one here), fan clubs, fan-based events (like the Comicon or Spartan Races), even themed social networks (http://www.trekpassions.com/ for sci-fi fans) or wiki websites (like those on Collaborative communities for everyone!) are filled with passionate people.

Your passions can be found through comparisons.

Think of three buckets. The first is tagged "Things I like", the second "Things I love" and the third "Things I'm passionate about". Of all the things you do if life - either on a professional, social or personal level - take the 5 or 10 things that come atop of your mind when you ask "What is it I like (doing) the most in life?" Put them all in the 1st bucket. Out of those 5 or 10, take those that bring you more energy, excitement and make you happier than others - when you're doing them. Transfer them to the 2nd bucket; "Things I love". There should be less - in total - than the 10 you started with. Now, of those maybe 4 things you love, ask yourself the same question as before. Put your answers in the third bucket. In the end, you might have identified 2 or maybe only 1 passion. It's ok. You don't need 20. There wouldn't be any place or time left in a 7-days-week for the things you dislike or hate anyway. Unless you have an extra 8th day only for that.

Other than swimming/surfing and very few other things, one I'm deeply passionate about is finding and telling stories of overcoming adversity. It even led me to build a company around it; www.sparkshaus.com

Now, what are your top 5 or 10 things you would put in your 1st bucket jorgus?

My passion is to make money and retire early. I see people working their asses off well into their 60s or worse. I tried working for corporate, couldn't do 9-5 days. Working for yourself is the best and that's why i am blessed to be in the IM space.

Your passion is usually built into you. You come with it. Just find out what you would 'Love' doing & would be willing to do it for the joy of it first and money second.

Yes I know people come into IM to make money but if you love what you do, then it doesn't feel like work & everthing flows more easily including money.

Some people come here strictly for money but some would be more suitable for another industry.

I am passionate about my FREEDOM and love to work from the 'comfort' of my home without having to commute anywhere to make an income.

That's what does it for me.
