What to do with this domain

I recently bought the domain uk-wildlife.com I didn't have a plan when I purchased it, just thought it was too good a name to let go really.

I am just stuck for ideas. I would like to do something with it. It doesn't have to make money as I have other sites for that.
So come on fellow warriors lets have some ideas.

Thats what I love about this forum. So many people with ideas that I could never think of. Not sure the uk ladies would like to refered to as wildlife though lol

You really don't think they'd like it?

      Ok, Andy... a suggestion.

You could really appeal to people who are into nature, obviously. So perhaps create a
site with a structure that reflects the different major locations of the UK. Each location
will have its own particular variety of wildlife.

I have to admit my ignorance here about the UK. I don't know if the wildlife is sufficiently
      varied enough to do that.

But anyway you could have lots of content and pics, of course. Then you can either add
your own affiliate links related to travel and tours to each location.

If you can build-up enough traffic, then you can start selling ad space to appropriate
businesses, or businesses that exist in the locations covered in your site. Places like bed
      and breakfast places, inns, etc.

You can always do some adsense monetization if you're into that.

Oh! Ok, help me out here...

In that movie, Pride and Prejudice... with Keira (sp?) Knightley, oh god she's hot.. nevermind,
but it shows a place in the UK that has a lot of hills, rocks, open space, etc. I can't remember
the name of that place, but you can get lots of pics and content about it and have that
as a feature on your site.

So, that's my idea. I think it's a good one, too!

      Good luck with it.

PS-- I guess if I had read Salespectus' post perhaps I would not have written mine! LOL. But
there you have it... two people suggesting the same thing. Kind of obvious, though. Give it
      some thought.

      Hi,

      Some ideas here:

      1. Start with planning a site structure.

      For example:

      Home
      Categories
      Mammals
      Birds
      Amphibians and Reptiles
      Insects
      Trees
      .
      .
      .
      etc

      2. For each site category, find and add articles, videos, photos, and places (with maps) people can visit.
You can also add news and a calender of events.

      3. Monetize with adsense or affiliate programs in the travel and tourism industry.

This domain has potential to be made into a huge authority site.

      Regards

Well first of all thanks for the ideas and I think I will start planning the site now.
I never thought about how to Monetize it before so thats interesting. I am really interested in wildlife so I will not find it difficult to write about.
My only experience in using a platform is wordpress. So I guess if I build a number of static pages that will do. Or do you reckon that it would be better to use a different system?

    Hi Andy... regarding platforms...

You're experienced with WP, so I think that would be fine to use. Also, use the appropriate plugins, etc... like the seo plugin; with WP you can exchange comments with visitors. You know all that stuff.

So I think that's a good idea for all the reasons I'm sure you already know.

This is a cool long-term project that you really can turn into a very useful site as well as a good revenue stream.

    Keep us posted!

    Thanks Ken

Will definately keep you posted. Have a lot going with my other sites but must give this some time. Funny how searching through old domain names can lead to a new project.

You could make it into a side gearded towards kiddies. Young kids are always doing school projects on wildlife. I know from my own kids ... the first place they go now to get info for their projects is the Internet. I remember when all I had was my collection hard copies Encylopedia Britannica!

Do you know, I could almost use a little of everybodys ideas here. I love the web cam idea from Wordpro, and Tracey it would be criminal not to include at least a page dedicated to a younger audience.
    So thanks again.
When this site gets up and running you will all know that you were a part of it.
    I might even acknowledge you.
I remember those Encylopedias well. We only had a few and the section always seemed to run out before the letter you needed.lol
