It's About The Only Real Secret In Internet Marketing

"If someone tells you their system will teach you how to create revenue on 100% autopilot without lifting a finger - they are lying. Run away. Fast."

-Ryan Lee

I agree so much with that above quote.

The truth is it all takes work.

WORK!

There IS smart work and then there is just busy work.

Lazy work.

There are things you can use as leverage but they need to be created, tested and tweaked.

You must make them and put them to use.

The course that promises you limitless riches for $7 (I hate selling anything for that much...even though I recently did..probably not happening again soon) is not a smoke screen, but it is a tip of the iceberg and should offer you some clues.

I think $7 is ok when you're trying to further grow your audience, once you've sorta kinda got one and give JV's incentive to help you when you pay them all or a majority of the front end sale commission (such a shitty tactic that I will still succumb to and probably continue to embrace because, evidently, albeit sadly, it works).

If you are just getting started and you're selling $7 shit shows that could be great in actuality, but you're mucking their positioning up, just to build your audience, you've got to understand who you're attracting.

If it's in self publish book format then that probably makes more sense because the medium and format matches our conditioned perception.

The WSO thing recently has a lower quality perception and a much more jaded and highly critical audience.

If it's a WSO...beware you're trying to teach magic tricks to other magicians.

BTW, there is no Warrior Forum targeting interest on Facebook.

^^Something I've pondered.

Now don't get me wrong, testing is key and maybe you can do just fine with the above, but I started off high end and I just like those folks a bit better than the $7 dreamer.

Price is a strategy because it's factored into perception.

That doesn't mean go charge a shit load of money for some info product "good idea" you've never tested and is still just theory based.

Do, however, charge for results and work you've accomplished.

How do you get to do that?

Get results.

The cool thing about this is that you can just get the results for free to show the next guy / gal "hey look at the results I was able to get this person. Want me to do the same thing for you?"

Then you go ahead and charge them what it's worth.

Wait...so what's it worth?

Good question.

It's worth whatever someone else is willing to pay and you're willing to agree to do it for.

This is also contextual.

You can charge more later if someone else thinks it's worth more and they're able to see themselves getting results.

By the way...

This works in reverse too.

If you're trying to charge more but where you're asking for it no one is willing to pay it you probably have a problem in one or more of the following areas:

Where you're selling it, the people that can afford it aren't interested in that

Or

The price you're selling it at no one interested can can afford it (maybe you do a multipayment thing or downsell with less)

Or

The people that can afford it and have expressed interest and are willing to invest just don't have a compelling enough reason why just yet so... you've got to do a better job of selling them

Which is another way to say you're sending the wrong message.

Or

I'm not sure...but get some real customer feedback and think.

Stop and think about your efforts and what your customers want.

Look for success clues.

Now again, this isn't etched in stone stuff, but it's reliable.

Just like gravity.

However, some folks have learned to defy that too and they're doing just fine.

Test.

Try shit...but you better not for one second think that it doesn't take WORK!

Oh yeah...it also takes a buy button.

Ask people for money.

I try and do that one daily.

Did this help you or should I just not post stuff like this?

Regards,

Los

    Great post!

The problem in my opinion is, that most people don't know where to start. So they don't know where to work on ...!

    Cheers!

I agree with OPs point. Real lasting success can only be built on work.

The problem is there is so much hype regarding 'autopilot' systems that people fall for them over and over again.

    People are looking for shortcuts.

Sadly, the only shortcut they discover is a quick and easy way to lose money.

If you are building ANY KIND of ONLINE INCOME SYSTEM.. you have to it the RIGHT WAY and the SMART way.

Sadly, for most, WORK is involved.

Otherwise, it's just too easy to fail.

    Seriously.

If you don't know anything about marketing you'll definitely believe it.
But if you know marketing well, you know that it's the other way around.

I think there is a rite of passage to this stuff. Maybe not for everyone involved, but for probably most people. Everyone starts out on the bottom, even those who are lucky enough to have awesome mentors from the beginning, and they have to get through the trials & tribulations so to speak. For those who make it through... they've earned their spot. Perhaps some won't agree with me here, but I know personally speaking I learned the hard way and I'm by no means where I want to be yet, but I'm getting there sure enough.

These flashy dreams being sold are a means to weed out those not worthy, in my eyes- as brutal as it sounds, I believe it to be true. It goes for both sides, the seller & the buyer for a good portion of people selling false hope, especially in todays age, will be called on it and eventually crash and burn or at least flicker out. For those of them which do not, they're the gate keepers to the club house, it's trial by fire for most of us and if you want in you need to prove it with diligence and perseverance.

    Awesome post btw, OP.

Great post and you made some great points.

Everyone wants instant gratification these days, and people expect to get something for nothing. But like you said, you only get out of it what you put into it, so its no surprise that the ones who go hard and work their butts off are the people who see results!

I have NEVER met anyone who is successful in IM who said they got their results from some "push-button" "done-for-you" system. You reap what you sow.

@vicg100 - Yeah, the only push button that works is the send button when you already have a list you WORKED hard at building and then that you're firing off a message to, lol.

No one would expect to become a doctor or a lawyer without a lot of time, learning, work and investment. No one would expect to do well in an offline business like a shoe store or a restaurant or a construction business without a lot of time, learning, work and investment. Online business is not different, it is just online. It still deals with giving people what they want, for a good price, and learning how to do that.

@AmberJB - The people that expect to do well without effort are the bright shiney object, short term and easily fickle minded.

In my opinion, the truth is we all have this sort of problem in some way, shape or form.

I'm simply trying to help folks curb it without being too salesy about it, myself.

    Thanks for your input.

@dawoodkhan97 - so glad you dug it and hope it made sense.

On another note about pricing, and how it's an excellent strategy, everyone, you should check out:

"No B.S. Price Strategy" By Dan Kennedy and Jason Marrs"

It's an excellent read and will give you a brand new understanding on how and why high pricing is useful...even if you're trying to hell low priced items.

Hint: The high ticket thing makes your low ticket thing look like a very good deal because nothing is good or bad until it's compared.
