Learning vs taking action
just wanted to share something that I've been thinking about in the last few days.
Sometimes, I tend to want to learn and learn and learn, simply because I feel that there's something else that I need to know before I can do something that I want to do. I feel that somehow - magically - if I learn something else -just another small thing - I will be able to accomplish something that I haven't before.
And to be honest, there's nothing wrong with that.
The problem happens when I start to use this as a justification (excuse) for not taking action or even if the action that I take is limited because I feel that I don't as yet have enough knowledge.
In the past this used to be something which held me back, but when I sat alone and thought about the whole process, I understood that it was time for me to use what I learned in order to add value to othersand at the same time, get myself out of the rut that I would be in.
So to conclude all I wanted to say was this:
if you're feeling that you constantly need to learn something new, that somehow once you get the next piece of information or the latest and juiciest trick, that somehow you'll be able to achieve what you want - you're wrong.
You'll never get to where you want to be unless you put down the book and start writing your own journey which starts by simply taking the first action step today, the next one tomorrow and continuing doing this every single day until you arrive where you want to be.
Of course, you'll meet obstacles along the way and there's nothing wrong with learning how to overcome these obstacles by obtaining more information - HOWEVER, at the point where you know that you can take the next step but choose to continue hunting for more knowledge, maybe it's time to self analyze what's happening OR just continue on your journey and see what happens next!
Just my thought for the day!
