Came across this ted talk video by Tai lopez. He talks about this 33% of life.

The rule requires you to spend 33% of your time with the people you can mentor, a third with those on your level, and a third with people who can mentor you.

What so you think are the reasoning behind all this?

It's a self improvement technique. Your teaching someone what you learun by being a mentor.

Your learning from your mentor and your sharing your knowledge and values with those on your level.

When you surround yourself with success and do what successful people do, you will become successful.

There is a balance between these 3 cases: very good way to keep balance between the teaching and the learning ;-)

  • You need to spend time 33% of your time with people below you, because you can help them and it's good for your self esteem.

You also need to spend 33% of your time with people on your own level, these are your friends

And you need to spend 33% of your time with people above you, that's uncomfortable, but those people take you to a higher level.

    The reasoning is simple.

33% you help so you can give something back to others that can't help you right now and to feel good about yourself.

33% are the people at your level because you need to live with them, every single day.

33% are helping you move forward by knowing what you don't already know. Eventually the chain will move back. The people who teach you now will eventually become the people you live with the the people that you live with now will eventually become your students.

  • Love your replies guys.

I think I am still at the stage of looking for a mentor and already have some for some aspects of my life.

But I never thought of doing it concurrently being a mentor to someone else.

    It's all about balance.

You don't only need people who will tech you.

You'll also need people to share your knowledge to.
