How many of you are impatient?

this is something i have struggled with for most of my life. I always want something now and never want to wait. Learning patience is an everyday lesson. realising that everything that is supposed to happen always happens at the perfect time is something im still trying to accept.

I guess this also has alot to do with being present and grateful for the now as if you were completely present you would not be worrying about when, when, when....

Just writing this post i have already learnt and realised some things... does anybody have any tips on how they practice patience?

Hey thanks for this thread ;-)

I have succeeded to be more patient thanks to relaxation: and that's allow me to be in the serenity, to let go easily and to be release by the material envies.
    With a time that's increasingly developping :-)

I can totally relate to you. I am also an impatient person. I read it before on one of motivational books that being impatient is considered as one of the sins. Since then I'm beginning to trust the power of perfect timing. I learned how to wait patiently.

  • I remind myself that it's a marathon not a sprint. I'm not going to achieve anything if I get burned out too soon. So every weekend, I unplug and just focus on taking care of myself for a change. The experience kind of forces me to be patient. And going offline has actually helped me to become more motivated and creative when I get back to work.

I'm very impatient as well, and it's very hard actually... I remember when I used to start working on new projects, I used to lose my interest very quickly because I was impatient, I wanted quick results.

But now I know that it's just impossible to get quick results, and when I'm not working I try to focus on not thinking about the results. Instead of that I try to learn more information, let's say about my niche or read some books about business, basically I try to expand my knowledge. Keeping my mind occupied, helps me a lot to keep impatience away.

there is a difference between patiance and realistic expectation ..or maybe they depend on each other ..

if you are making sour dough bread ....it can take a week to get a starter going.. then once you mix the starter with flour you need to let it rise for at least 12 hours ..then you have to bake the bread for long enough ..

cooking or growing food is the most effective way to practice patience .. because well .. i mean cooking from scratch or putting effort in..not taking stuff out of a box and putting it in a preheated oven..or microwave ..

or travel to tropical countries .. where locals have to set the time an event starts at 6pm..so it gets started at 8p or at least by 9pm..

or where you can go into a place to eat..order something from the menue..and them not have it..and it is common around the country ..i mean you can go into an american chain in that country and still not get the first thing you wanted to order ..

hehe...you have been trained to be impatient because a lot of people make money from you..and it costs you money ..
